1. Go to Settings, Accessibility, Voiceover, Commands, Touch Gestures.
2. Select any of the touch gestures listed here which already has a voiceover function assigned, E.G., 4 Finger Single Tap which has Secondary Activate assigned to it by default.
3. Assign some other function to this gesture and confirm the prompt to replace the assigned function with the new one.
Expected result: The new function should be immediately assigned and should reflect against the Gesture.
Hi all. I've noticed a very irritating bug on my iPhone 5S and wondered if anyone else is having the same problem? When I'm playing any music or podcast or whatever and I press the volume buttons (either on the earphones or on the device itself), it wakes up the screen. This is even more annoying for us VoiceOver users.
On my old iPhone 4S and on my iPod 5th Gen, both also running iOS7, I had the more widely reported bug of VoiceOver saying "screen locked" a few seconds after pressing a volume button, but as I say, on the 5S it's waking up the screen completely, which is even more irritating.
I want to inform you about a very frustrating bug that is introduced in iOS 13.0 and is still in the operating system (iOS 13.4.1):
Procedure:
- Voice-over is turned on.
- I connect a set of apple earpods to the iPhone.
- I start playing music (It don't matter what app I use)
- I turn the volume higher than 60%.
- I lock the screen.
Result:
- It keeps trying to unlock.
When I try to view forwarded emails with attachments, the email reads as one line, and the attachments don’t show up to download, it just says there are attachments available
I've noticed a problem I have never encountered before while reading a book in the Apple Books app. It is sometimes cutting off words at the end of the page. I had a sighted person check one page where the last few words seemed to be missing while reading with Voiceover, and they were visible. I could even find some of the words by direct touch, but it couldn't read them using the two finger swipe down. I reported the bug, if anyone else encounters it, I hope they will do the same.
Hey guys, is anyone else having this problem when they try to download a voice on iPadOS 14.1? It shows that the voice is downloaded, but it is not allowing me to click on it. For example, when I click on the recently downloaded ava voice, it does not do anything. It says, stop downloading Ava, 534 MB. I get this with several other voices that I've tried to download also. Is there a workaround for that that you are aware of? I posted about this before but no one seems to have seen it. I don't know if this is happening on iPhones as well.
I am wondering if anyone has encountered these bugs with IOS9. I just upgraded to the latest IOS version on my iPhone 5S. When I type text input into a text message, if I begin to type at a normal rate, voice over will not read any of the letters that I am inputting. If I type very slowly, the letters will be read back to me. If I go and change the settings in software key boards to letters and words, it will read every letter I type twice. Also with the messaging app swiping onto the messages icon, voice over will not read if there are any unread messages.
Hello there to everybody. I'm the proud owner of a new iPhone 6 64 gig. I love it except for one thing.
When I attempt to hang up a call weather it be face time or a phone call using the power button I cannot. I've tried restarting and reseting the spring board with no luck. can this be reproduced and if so, how can this be fixed? I've updated and am running ios 8.2.
I never hear if I misspell a word. Steps: 1. write helllo with 3 l. VO does not say it is misspelled I can swipe up or down to hear suggestions, but, if I would not have already known it was misspelled I would have never fixed it. Anyone else seeing this?
In general, I have lots of problems with spell check. The rotor does not find errors reliably.
Anyone else has better luck?
Dear All,
Since I downloaded the latest version of Earl which was available a couple of days ago, I appear to be experiencing a really annoying bug. Every five seconds or so, the speech synthesiser I am using stopps working and an error message appears which states "speech synthesiser faulty". This is after about two or three seconds of nothing. The speech synthesiser 'reads' the error message but nothing happens for a further three or four seconds. This is very annoying because Earl is no longer useable with this bug. Has anyone else experienced this?
Hi
Has anybody else noticed that when you have screen recognition turned on in an app, when you try to get in a text or search field, the keybord is hidden? The phone acts like the text field opens but there’s no keyboard. I wrote to apple but got no response.
I have found a bug with the latest version of the amazon music app, If alexa hands free is enabled voiceover will sound like it does when on a call and become very sluggish. I disabled the hands free feature, closed the app and reopened and that fixed it.
Messenger was updated today, and I've noticed a bug. When I type a message, and am looking for the send button, old messages will get read out even if I am on the Keyboard. For example, I could hear a keyboard click saying that I am entering a letter in. However, VoiceOver will be reading a message and will not tell me that I am pressing a letter. Has anyone else had this issue?
I have assigned a 2-finger swipe left to move to the status bar. Since upgrading to ios 18, this gesture frequently doesn't work. I've gone in and assigned it again, and it was working fine, but just today, it stopped again.
Strange thing is that all the other custom gestures I have assigned work consistantly.
Hello everybody!
When I'm browsing with safari, when the VoiceOver finds a frame, it hangs and does not let me do anything else on the page.
No gesture works, and he returns to normal, must close safari by selector.
Has anyone had this problem?
I sent the following report to Apple. If you experience the same, do send your report as well.
On iOS 8, iPhone 6, the screen locks after standard time interval when one is reading a book while using a Bluetooth device.
This is true for Alex as well as standard iOS voices on Bluetooth speaker as well as Bluetooth headset.
This occurs always when the book is read after the Bluetooth device has been connected. Sometimes, it does not occur, though I cannot identify when this happens.
