iOS and iPadOS

Hi all,

Recently I have not been able to share files saved in the 'public' folder on my Dropbox. When I try, I receive the error message 'can't share this file. This is on both my iPad Pro and my iPhone 6S, latest IOS and latest version of the Dropbox app. Sharing works with other folders so it's not not a disastrous issue, but annoying. Has anyone else experienced this or do you have any ideas?

I wanted to organise some files in my dropbox today, but the app kept crashing every time I activated the files tab and moved VO focus into the list of files and folders. Is anyone else having this problem? I only noticed this just now, but I don't launch the dropbox app very often so I don't know how long it's been an issue. I do know there was an update a couple of days ago, though, so that might have been when it started.

Hello Apple Vis,
has anyone else been having issues searching for items on Hulu? I've been trying to search for a TV show, and I select the search tab in the Hulu app, but actually choosing an episode seems impossible.
I just see a list that says X numbers of Movies, X number of Episodes and other amounts of various segments of videos.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi
After updating to iOS 12.4, when I use MBraille's in-app keyboard and want to review text that I've written word by word (holding down dot 3 and swiping), the app crashes and deletes all the text I've written. Is anyone else having this issue?
I'm using iOS 12.4 with an iPhone XR, smart layout, danish uncontracted braille.

Best
Malthe

Hi
Since the last 2 IOS updates, I've lost my new mail alert tone. I was hoping with the release of 15.3 it would be sorted, but no luck. I have checked that the sounds setting for mail is still on plus looked in the notifications setting to check that all options for mail are turned on, but still no luck.
If anyone has the same issue and has managed to fix it I'd love to hear from you. It's not the end of the world, but means I have to check more regularly for any new mail I may have missed.
Many thanks
Debbie

Hello all! I’ve been having a weird issue for the last few days, and I’m not sure if it’s just me or what. I have a couple different email apps on my iPad seventh generation. I have, the Gmail app, Outlook, which I’m still getting the hang of how to use, and, the Apple Mail app. They are all tied to the same email account, which is my Gmail account. When ever I get an email, usually, my Gmail Ap will go off, and then, so will my Outlook app. But lately, they haven’t been going off. Only way I know I get emails, is that I go check it.

Just wondering if anyone here has tried the postmates app for on demand delivery? The app appears to be iffy in accessibility. I can't fully complete my checkout the get order now button is always dimned for some reason. I think you have to scan your credit card or something and I don't know how easy that would be for a totally blind person.. It also seems like the app eats a lot of battery I would say more than the other on demand apps like uber and lyft. However the website is very accessible.

if not that app, what's the ba÷ app, accessibility-wise, to be able to measure something using your camera on your iDevice? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I recently updated to IOS 7.1. I really like the update, however, I recently experienced a problem. When I was typing a message with my Bluetooth keyboard with the quicknav turned off, when I wanted to navigate through the words using option key + the arrow keys VoiceOver wouldn't speak the words. When I turned off QuickNav and navigated to the iMessage text field VoiceOver didn't speak the text, so either VoiceOver couldn't detect the text, which I highly doubt, or there's a bugg with the use of Bluetooth keyboards in connection with VoiceOver on the new IOS.

Hello. I've heard in some circles that DocuSign is an accessible program for digitially signing forms etc. Maybe I'm just dim, but I'm struggling with it a bit. Has anyone had any luck using DocuSign on IOS or beyond? Specifically, have you been able to add your digital signature to the program through the app? Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I guess the titles says it all. Does anyone figured out how to use airb&b app for iphone? I downloaded the app and found it very confusing. Thanks for your response.

Hello, Just wondering if anyone has found a work around to the speaker phone issue when answering calls? I have a 4s and have that bug too. I know apple accessibility is aware of this and said they are working on it, but until then has anyone found a work around? I have found resetting the phone with power and home sometimes helps but I'm not going to continuously do this as it's not good for the phone. I have also heard from apple that someone told them resetting all settings on the phone has helped them, however this has not worked for me.

Hello Apple Vis,
Does anyone has any advice on using Sling TV with VoiceOver. I signed up for Sling, because it supports more people streaming live TV than Direct TV NOw. Which is What I had.
Thanks IN Advance.

The subject says it all. Has anyone had any luck with using voiceover and the latest version of the walgreens app? I can't get anything to activate when double tapping.

Hello, I have been looking for an app that will allow me to create simple grocery lists for when I go to the market. List recorder is an awesome app, but I want something that's gonna be quick. List recorder is great for making a to-do list, but what if I want to jot something down without having to add each individual item, and then give it an item title, then done. It just seems too much of a hassle if i just want to write things and then be able to check off groceries as I'm in the market shopping. Does anyone have any ideas on apps that would be great for this task?

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using Google's Live View walking directions (these use your phone's camera to more accurately position yourself than would be possible just using GPS). As a sighted person, I tried using it and even with VoiceOver on it didn't seem like the feature was designed to be accessible non-visually.

I'm wondering if folks have experience with either using Google Live View with a screen reader (or potentially other assistive tech) or if they've used some other, similar system.

I use BSI most of the time, but it wasn't until I couldn't access it that I realized how much I also use the onscreen keyboard. I reported the issue to Apple, and at their request, I sent them a screenshot of the keyboard not popping up.

I've tried turning off bluetooth, I've tried double-tapping and holding, and everything else that folks have suggested so far. I'm open to new suggestions if anyone has any.

Thanks, and I'll let you know what Apple comes up with.

I have been a keen user of flicktype since it reappeared, but I've started noticing issues with it recently.

Mostly serious lag. There doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason or specific apps, it just has moments when it goes insanely slow until I switch back to the IOS keyboard. I've been reluctant to remove and reinstall because of all the words now in the dictionary which weren't originally and sorting my subscription etc.

Anyone experienced this or fixed this?
Thanks!

Hi. Over the past month or so I've regularly been having an issue charging my Iphone 6S. it behaves as if the cable is loose and if I move it charging stops briefly and then rstarts or stops altogether. i would assume a problem with the connector as it's happening with multiple cables, multiple plugs etc. However i've spoken to quite a number of people who have recently been having this issue. I'm going to report it to Apple tonight but would be interested to know if others having it here.ht
