Hi all, Apple just approved Voice Cam version 1.1.1
Voice Cam helps to read english words, detected by the camera, on the fly.
New Features are:
Start and stop reading.
Voice guidance says position of text relative to cam.
Number of words detected.
Increased area that detect text.
Improvments to detect text
I'm happy to get feedback on this version.
Hello
After installing IOS 12.3 on my iPhone 8+, I discovered VoiceOver again says: "Ercent" in stead of: "percent. I rebooted my phone, but the problem still persists. On the rotor punctuation is set to some and I have other Siri english voices installed and no problem with them.
Ever since iOS 16 released, pronunciations have been completely broken for me. And I’ve tried everything to fix them. I’ve tried deleting them, and re-entering them, turning off and on my phone, and even resetting my settings, but nothing has work. In fact, it’s gotten even worse. It won’t even let me dictate the replacement anymore. The same problem is also happening on my iPad. am I really the only one having this problem?
Trying to get voiceover to pronounce my last name using the French Canadian Emily voice. When I set it up and choose the voice I want it works, but my settings aren't saved when I back out. The only way that works for me so far is to write out the way it is spelt and then replace it with a phonetic pronounciation. This works, but I would prefer my name to be pronounced with a proper French Canadian accent. I have the French Canadian Emily voice downloaded on my IPhone 6 already. Will I have to live with the phonetic pronounciation of Baillargeon or am I missing something here?
Since updating to IOS 11.3 using an iphone 8, the word emoji is no longer pronounced correctly and is pronounced extremely strangely. This is a small but annoying problem so wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the issue. I went into the pronunciation settings and changed the pronunciation and applied it to all apps and when I play the sample, it pronounces it correctly. However, it is still not working when I type the word into a message, when I hear the word in App notifications and when I tap the emoji button to select an emoji in a message.
I have two iPhones at the moment, an iPhone 15 on iOS 17.0.2 and a 2020 iPhone SE on iOS 17.0.1 (both using Samantha), and I wanted to see if anyone else has been experiencing this ... bug? I'm not quite sure that's the right thing to call it, but it has definitely been bugging me.
In iOS 15, I had problems dictating pronunciations, but now they don't work at all. All of my urices have been speaking the words as though I hadn't added pronounciations . Is anyone else having these issues?t
Hello all
I've got a quick question about updating an IOS device. I assume when you update over the air that the IOS download stays on your device and you lose that amount of space, 50mb and/or 1gb etc? Is there a clean up program to get that or other locked space back? Where as if you update through Itunes the download stays on your machine (don't remember what folder it goes in)?
Thanks.
Disclaimer: It was suggested to me that I make a new post for the benefit of anyone who may be facing this issue. Here is to hoping it helps! 😃
The iOS version of VoiceOver has many amazing and beneficial features to make using an "i" device more accessible and efficient. The screen-reader is very robust and intuitive, and is extremely customizable to an individual's needs.
Hi All,
I just recently Jailbroke my 4S. I downloaded the app ProTube which is an app similar to Youtube but I can't find how to download videos with it or search and play them. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Shane.
I just bought an app called Protube and I was playing with that for sometime but couldn't find it accessible in many places. There are a bunch of unlabeled buttons and I dono what's that for. Is there any podcast or any tutorial for making it useful for this poor blind man?
I know many blind people who join zoom calls on their iPHONE preferring it to a computer. But for me, that's never been a fun experience.
I have a first-generation iPHONE SE -- I think it was the last one with a real home button. It works great with clubhouse and all other audio apps. But when I am in zoom if I move the phone or touch the screen in the wrong place the proximity sensor kicks in and the volume of both the zoom call and VoiceOver drops to almost inaudible.
Hi all, can you please someone recommend me the most accessible app for public transportation in london, route planning, time tables etc? thanks. Pavel
As recently as iOS 11, if I wanted to publish a video to Youtube, all I had to do was select a video in my photos app, hit "Share" and select the "Publish to Youtube" option. I just tried to do this while running iOS 12, and the option in question doesn't seem to be there. Does anyone know if this is in fact a feature that has been lost in iOS 12? If so, does anyone know of another easy way to publish a video to Youtube?
hello,
When i do a three fingered pulldown to refresh an app such as GV Connect the app does not refresh. What am I doing wrong? Thank you for your help.
Hello
In all 3 South-African English voices the annoying bugg is still present where the % sign is pronounces as ercent. Can one change this in the new punctuation settings under Verbocity? Does anyone here know how these options work?
So you know that bug wherein voiceover stops speaking at random times? Well, I emailed apple accessibility about it and they told me that it was most likely caused when voiceover hits unanticipated punctuation in whatever content it's reading. The tech support person told me that I might be able to make the bug happen less frequently by changing the punctuation verbosity in voiceover. I know this is possible on a mac, but I've not been able to find this setting on iphone. Does this functionality exist in I O S?
