iOS and iPadOS

Hi Everyone, Wondering what new voice over (if any) features in the latest IOS update. Also wonder what bugs may be in the new upgrade. Have any issues from previous 6.xx versions been fixed too? I haven't updated since 6.0 because I had heard about different issues from reviewing comments in this forum. Want to make sure it's a good idea to upgrade before doing so. Appreciate any & all comments & advice. Thanks, Adam

Hello all! Now that we are all in the process of digesting all of the new things with in the IOS 6. I am curious in what bugs you have found so far? Our goal is to compile a comprehensive list that we could perhaps send off to Apple for considerations in helping us for the next update for IOS 6. Together, I think we can do it! So I ask if you wouldn't mind in joining in with me and with all of all of you on AppleVis. To hop in and leave in what you have found together. I know in the past few days that a lot of remarks and regrets have been said.

Hi Everyone, It seems that I've been hearing mixed things about the new iOs 6 with varius bugs and such. I'm sure though it varies from phone to phone. My question is should I upgrade now or wait until n update is available? Also, if I upgrade and it proves to be full of bugs, can I roll back to 5.11, and how would I do this? Finally, I read where its better to upgrade through iTunes on the pc rather than through the phone because of various differences. What are they if any and how would one do this through iTunes on the pc?

things i can't stand about iOS 7 hi! my main gripes - I'm writing a text and want to pause my music, two thigner double tap, i get siri popping up. similarly, I'm on the home screen want to listen to music, whereas as two finger double tap previously would *always* just start my music or book playing, often nothing happens! i don't like the new phone keypad as can hardly ever seem find the delete key. it seems very small. I use my phone for work so dial clients numbers all the time, messing with this is unproductive to say the least. in safari, wher are the forward/back buttons?

Hi, I know iOS 7 isn't out yet, but there's something I've been wondering about. I'm considering purchasing an app, specifically the Scourby Audio Bible App, which hasn't had an update since November 2012. Do all apps need to be compatible with iOS 7, or will any that haven't been updated continue to work just fine? I've written to the developers of the Scourby app to see if it will be compatible, but haven't got a response back. I'd hate to have spent $20.00 for the app, only to find it won't work, but maybe I'm worrying too much. What do you think? Thanks. Yours Sincerely, Kelly Sapergia

Since upgrading to IOS 7, the proximity sensor seems to be less responsive. For example, when answering a call and raising the phone to my ear, the phone alternates a couple of times between earpiece and speaker phone before settling on the earpiece. Also, when using Seri with the "Raise to Speak" feature, it never works. It cuts out in the middle of the command. However, Seri works fine when accessing it through holding the Home button. I believe this may also be as a result of problems with the proximity sensor. I am using IOS 7 with an iPhone 4S. Is anyone experiencing similar problems?

Initially when iOS 7 came out with a number of bugs, I optimistically thought it wouldn't be a problem as they would soon fix them in an update. Now I've changed my mind. Not because they haven't yet fixed the problems – it's far too soon for that, even though they have already released two updates. I'm less optimistic now because I remembered there's still bugs from iOS 6 which haven't been fixed, so what evidence do we have that Apple will fix these bugs? I also can't help thinking that fixing these bugs was really something that should've happened during the beta testing phase.

HI all! Ios 7 says to be a very large experience new that happened for Apple and world wide, cuz of these functions design etc etc. But I'm a user of voice over that many other members here also do the same, that for us it's not so great difference. do you agree with me? I can not find any specially news to do example gestures/functions realited to Voice over in Ios 7 that older versions before. I remember that there had posts here what we would like to see in Ios 7 accessiblity. Okey, Control center is first thing I can pointed. So why haven't it develope more accessible for us?

I've been using IOS 7 for about 5 days now and I've been plagued by problems sending messages to my contacts who also have iPhones. (Using Fleksy through favorites or messaging). Thinking this was a Fleksy problem with IOS 7 I went to their site and under news they say that the issue of problems sending I-Messages with IOS 7 will probably be addressed with the forthcoming 7.03 IOS update. So, this is an Apple issue, Apple is aware of it, and it is planned to be addressed. My thanks to the Fleksy folks for posting this on their site, as the problem is intermittent and driving me crazy.

Hi friends! I've just recently installed Ios 7 on my iPhone 5. I think it's working great whith VO. But a little bit problem that it does work slow for example in the Facebook app, when I'll scroll by swiping thorugh others status the VO reads little bit slow than before. I use the fastest speed to 100%. I have also checked another one settings for VO and I can not find anything to change voice tempo. I would also like to say that it isn't so much differenting by VO only few gestured maybe 3-4.

Hello, I don't want to be the first to complain about iOS 7, I haven't fully looked at it yet but I'm sure its great. I updated on iTunes on my mac, and was quite shocked when VO started back up, and I heard this rediculess muffled english voice. I use UK english by the way, but I always had use compact voice turned on which was fine. It was a great clear voice, but now it sounds like a screen reader voice from about 10 years ago.

So it's a week since iOS 7 was released to the public. What are your thoughts so far? As for me it's very good and I like the new features, such as Control Centre. However, while it is very usable on my iPhone 4, it is sluggish, at least from a VoiceOver user's standpoint. But I know it's going to run just fine on my upcoming iPhone 4s. All comments welcome.

Hi, I just saw an update for iOS 7.0.2. Do any of you know what bugs have been fixed Especially for iPhone five? Has the touch screen bug been fixed? Thanks.
Post Date:
Hiya Guys, Just updated to 7.0.2 and the touch screen sensitivity bug has been fixed on my Iphone 4 s & Ipad 3rd Gen. Now I know that isn't the case for everyone so can anyone confirm that the touch screen bug has been fixed for them in the new update and if so on what device? I could reproduce the bug everytime before update but I haven't managed to do it once after. Friends with Iphone 5 and Ipad Minis report that the problem still happening for them even after update. Very strange. Thanks Shaun.

Hello everyone.. I just got a notification on my phone telling me that iOS 7.0.2 was available for download. I am one of the folks who downgraded back to iOS 6.1.4 so I could wait and see if iOS 7 became more stable in regards to accessibility. If anyone has upgraded to 7.0.2 I'm sure the community would appreciate your thoughts on accessibility improvements and non improvements. Thanks much, Greg

Hi, I am using iOS 7.0.3. Every once in a while, my auto correction and check spelling gets reset to the off position even though I have them on. Is anyone else having this issue? I hope this gets fixed very very shortly! There are other difficulties as well that is most likely been mentioned in other threads.

Okay, I am still using IOS 6 something on my Ipod 5th gen touch. Somehow I can't find reviews of the latest IOS 7.4. I'm thinking about upgrading and need some feedback on that version and how voice over is working. I know there were a lot of bugs when IOS 7 first came out, but has version 7.4 generally fixed the scrolling issues and loading of web pages/apps? Thanks

Hello AppleVis community, I'm kinda blown away that David, Thomas, Michael, Scot and others have not posted about the IOS 7.0.5 update and any changes that might have been made with VO since it's release yesterday. Unless I just have not been watching the site close enough, I cannot find a peep about the IOs 7.0.5 update and whether or not heading navigation has been improved, screen lock is not repeated by VO, the favorite tab is completely accessible once again, the I-Phone 5s volume issue has been resolved along with a host of others community member generated issues.

There's a new update for IOS 7 (7.0.6) The post describing this update & why it's so critical can be found at: http://www.welivesecurity.com/2014/02/22/urgent-iphone-and-ipad-security-update-mac-os-x-pending/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+eset%2Fblog+%28ESET+Blog%3A+We+Live+Security%29 I'm going to briefly summarize the post by quoting relevant portions below. "until you upgrade, your i-device has “a critical vulnerability that could allow hackers to intercept what should have been secure communications between your iPhone and SSL-protected websites

Hi, in the camera app I noted that VO is not as reliable as it used to be in terms of reporting auto-focussing of objects. In addition, the bug of not reporting faces in the picture anymore - which several people confirmed - is still present. Does any one else experience this too? /Roland
