The noise is only there when VoiceOver is turned on, I could not get the power-off sound to play with VoiceOver off. Furthermore, the device has to not be on mute.
But it seems iOS 16.1 has a feature for the blind, so we know when our phones are turning off. There's no power-on sound effect however, either with or without VO--at least not on my iPhone 13.
iOS and iPadOS
Can anyone else confirm?
I’m using an iPhone 13, running iOS 16.1. Issue:
When recording with voice memos, with an external input device connected to the lightning connector, such as the smart, AMBIO headset, when the iPhone locks, you are not able to read the lock screen with voiceover, you are only able to read the status bar.
You are unable to bring up the pass code option to unlock the device.
This doesn’t seem to happen if you don’t have a third-party input device connected.
I can’t hardly use safari and pandora because the internet is freezing and removing my selected voice and putting it back into the default mode. Sometimes it will kick me out of my apps too.
I don’t know how to report this bug to Apple. Also the focus issue is even worse for me now.
Can this be fixed?
I recently did factory reset on iPhone SE 2020. Voice over now speaks gibberish, in addition to text. The issue is consistent throughout all apps. Apple support said this is a known issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any solutions? Thank you!
I’m running 16.4.1 on a 12Pro Since updating to this version, the (already present) problems with VO focus moving around erratically have worsened dramatically. In Safari, for example, when I am in the middle of a page, it will sometimes randomly announce “screen curtain on” and shoot focus back up to the top. (Note: screen curtain is on, but it has been on throughout).
Is anybody else encountering this weirdness, and, if so, have you found a setting or anything else to alleviate the problem?
hi I just updated to IOS 16.5 on iphone SE. My question is IOS 16.5
is accessible on iphone SE? let me. know because i am having a issue with siri now
Hey everyone,
I recently updated to iOS 17 and noticed that the Braille screen input function is no longer sending my messages in apps like Messages or WhatsApp when I swipe up with three fingers. It's quite frustrating, as this was a feature I heavily relied on.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found a workaround or a possible solution? I'd greatly appreciate any advice or insights you may have.
Thanks in advance!
Sadik
There is a detailed description here: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=264410
Basically, since iOS 17 some mobile applications and websites that use a particular technology that previously was working have stopped supporting VoiceOver, this is breaking accessibility and preventing people from properly using a wide-range of apps and websites.
Apple has released iOS 17.0.1 to the general public today as well as a bunch of other updates.
The release notes say that security issues have been fixed, and that there have been bug fixes for the iPhone 15 and 15 pro.
It's a double point update, so not expecting any new features or changes, but if you find any improvements or bug fixes, please feel free to leave them here.
Good afternoon,
I’m writing today, to inform all of you that IOS17.1.1 & related updates have been released.
please update when you are able, and report back any findings, as there has not been notification from AppleVis as to what’s new and or changed.
The iOS 17.2 update notes say:
Catch-up arrow lets you easily jump to your first unread message in a conversation by tapping the arrow visible in the top-right corner
I do not see this arrow in the top right corner using Voiceover. How does one get to this feature?
hi guys,
is this happening to anyone else?
i have reported it, and i am waiting a response.
ipad, when held in land scape mode, the music app does not work.
music plays, but no sound.
force restart the ipad, hold it in portrate mode and it works just fine.
doesn't happen on iphone 11.
also, i have been reporting voiceover (which is the main reason for my writing this), wandering all over the screen since ios 16.
with every release, it just seems to get worse rather than better.
Hello everyone,
I know that iOS 17 has came out in the past couple of days, but I’m really curious about downloading a new software. Please, can you provide any suggestions on if I should upgrade to iOS 17 or not? Here are some things I would like to know:
1. How is the performance of voiceover? Is it glitchy, or does it run smoothly?
2. Are there any specific bugs in VoiceOver I should avoid?
3. Should I download iOS 17 or wait?
Just updated my iPhone 12 to IOS 17, thought it would fix a lot of issues I was facing with my device. Even the one I extensively wrote on here: https://www.applevis.com/forum/ios-ipados/updated-trouble-automations-when-triggered-shortcuts-ios-166
Not sure why you can't Hyperlink words when posting here on the forum?
Hello dear ones, I hope and wish you all well.
After updating to iOS 17, I identified a small Bug that, although not serious, hinders a little in the use of dictation on the iPhone with Voiceover.
What happens is this: if we are dictating a text and it is composed of only one line, the text is read Completely. However, if the dictation generates a text with more than one line, only the last line is pronounced by VoiceOver after the operation is finished. In addition, this situation also causes the dictated lines not to be pronounced in the Mail app.
Hello guys! So thought my first post on this side would be about the new release of iOS 18.
I just wanted to provide some of my thoughts about today’s Keynote.
So after hearing the new changes in general that are coming to iOS 18. Which the first half of the event, really presented good features. Nothing really changed that much in my personal opinion. Aside from the whole mirroring the iPhone into our Mac, which I’m really curious to see how would that work exactly with voiceover since you have the voice on the Mac and you also have the voiceover on the iPhone.
Does anyone know how to navigate the new photos app? It now doesn't make any sense with voiceover. I can't find my camera roll, and there are no more tabs on the bottom. Now it's just seems to be a random collection of all of the photos on my phone, and all unorganized, doesn't make sense. Is it just me struggling with this?
Hi. I updated to IOS 18 yesterday, and I'm wondering where I could find any sort of description of what the new text affects in messages look like? Because unlike the bubble affects that have descriptions of what they look like, text affects don't seem to have those. Like, what in the world does bloom look like? If anyone knows where I could find something like this, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
I have just bravely installed iOS 18 on my iPhone 15 pro. I usually wait until the .1 of a new operating system But thought I would be brave this time. However, I have discovered that using VoiceOver that on a couple of apps VoiceOver continuously drift back to the beginning of the page, for instance Facebook and BBC Sounds app. Very frustrating when you're trying to find out what program is on later in a day. Has anybody else found this? Is there a solution?
Hello everyone! In November 2021, I bought a baseus brand powerbank. I was using the device without any problems on my iPhone 15 device. But since I installed ios 18, I can no longer use my powerbank. When I try to charge my phone with a powerbank with a cable, there is a warning that this device uses excessive power. Moreover, this is the case in the 18.1 beta. I read that in some places only iPhone 15 devices encounter this problem.
