iOS and iPadOS

Hi,
Setting up Siri shortcuts and assign them to a customized VoiceOver gesture works great. For example, I plan to use it for opening my favorite apps with 2-finger or 4-finger gestures which weren't assigned to VoiceOver actions yet. A 2-finger swipe to the right could now run a specific app very quickly and from any screen. In practice, every time I run a shortcut I'm asked to confirm before running it. Can I deactivate this behaviour somehow?

Thanks.

Ben

Hello everybody,
I have resisted my temptation to upgrade to iOS14 for a long time. After the painful experience of iOS13.
I have read many posts about problems and I am really hesitant because the only thing that I seem to like is the OCR recognition of the webpages. My questions are as follows:
1. Is the jumping focus bug fixed? From what I recall also in Google search which I use a lot and also in Safari the focus jumps a lot and it is really problematic to navigate some webpages. Is this still true for many of you?

In the list of new and resolved bugs in iOS 14, the following is currently written:

"The performance of Apple's new VoiceOver recognition features is inconsistent and unreliable, particularly that of Screen Recognition. It should be noted that these features are a work-in-progress, and your mileage may vary. As things are now, you should expect to find that there will be situations where having one or more of these features enabled will provide a worse experience than having them disabled."

Hi
I was wondering if two-factor authentication is required in iOS 14. It seems that I can’t turn it off.
Thank you

Listening to the podcast by Thomas regarding Becca tap on the new iOS 14, Thomas has his triple tap set to hang up phone calls. Looking through the list on My wife’s iPhone 10 S Hang up the phone call doesn’t appear in the list. Thomas is in the US, we are in the UK. Is it possible that we have different lists for some reason? Interesting to find out what other people have found.

VoiceOver on iOS 14 has arbitrarily re-labeled some of my iPhone folder names. If I open the mislabeled folder, VoiceOver reads the correct folder name. If I close the folder and navigate around my Home Screen, VO reads the mislabeled folder title.

I have also created a new folder titled "Browsers". As I navigate around the Home Screen, VoiceOver now puts the word "Browser" in front of many of my Home Screen folder names. If I flick down to the page number on my Home Screen, VoiceOver will read "Browser Page 1 of 2".

Hello everybody and have a great week.
Just a quick question. Has the focus back on the main client been fixed? I mean the bug that when you delete an email sometimes the focus jumps to the beginning of the page. On the applevis bug tracker it says that is fixed, even with Ios 13 but it was never fixed for me.
Furthermore has anybody tried other mail applications and does it happen in those too?
Thank you for your reply.

I have a iPhone 6s. I began running IOS 14 at the public release. Over all, I like it. I am experiencing some sluggishness, even after doing the second language in the rotor solution. The sluggishness isn't terrible but it is noticeable as compared to IOS 13. I am wondering how much of the sluggishness is due to the VO sluggishness bug in IOS 14 and how much of it is simply due to the fact that I am running IOS 14 on the oldest supported device.

I was all excited about using the new widgets in iOS 14 after listening to the excellent AppleVis podcast on this topic. So I went ahead and put together a stack of widgets using VoiceOver.

Now I wish I hadn't done that and rearranged my home screen to try and get rid of some apps.

I wanted to let you all know I found a great use for IOS14.1 voiceover recognition! if I turn it on in Safari, turn off voiceover sounds, and play a Japanese anime video, from one of my favorite anime websites... Normally I cannot watch it, it is all Japanese with English subtitles! well guess what? not anymore, now all those videos are accessible! just turn on screen recognition for Safari, load up a subtitled Japanese anime video, turn off voiceover sounds, sit back and enjoy as voiceover happily reads all the english subtitles to you! I love it love it love it!!

So I took the plunge, and decided to upgrade to ios 14. So far I like, but I have one question. So far, I only have one widgit on my homescreen. However, each time I pass over said widgit, it automatically opens, for example, I swipe to the widget, and it'll say, battery, widgit, igna's iPhone, and the percentage, if I swipe to the right, it'll announce my other devices battery, the same thing happens when I'm going from right to left.

Good my dears, all right? As my first post here on the Applevis forum, I would like to ask you for help.

It so happened that I had downloaded both Siri voices available for my language, Brazilian Portuguese, in order to choose which of the two would please me the most. When I chose to use the male voice, I decided to remove the female voice to free up space, but Apple didn't allow this possibility.

I think I am the only one on the planet that has the below challenges with my iPhone SE 2020 with IOS 14.7.1

1. Shortcuts app. all the automations that have a Speak Text function either don't work when triggered or work with impaired speech. Also there are no voice options under English South African

Hi, all. I've disabled Picture in Picture in Settings, because I don't want it to be active all the time. I'm wondering if there's a way to enable it on the fly in case I might want to listen to YouTube while checking my email, etc.? I've noticed instructions in the user manual for double-tapping the video or tapping on an icon at the top of the app. Is there a Voiceover gesture for this, or is it necessary to toggle it on and off in Settings? Thanks!

Hello O,
I am using an iPhone 8 Plus and I recently updated to iOS 15.
After about six hours my phone has gotten down to about 40%. After being charged to 100% overnight. Is anybody else experiencing battery drain issues with their device?

hey! I used to use voiceover clock and it doesn't work after IOS 15.
any good and accessible apps can have the talking clock features?
it is something like announcing the time in every 30 minutes and so on...

This one is driving me crazy, and I'm wondering if it's happening to others running iOS 15. If I go into my recent calls log to initiate a phone call, and double-tap on the name or number of the person I want to call, focus must switch at the last possible second. Because about half the time, I don't call the person whose name or number I double-tapped on. I've also noticed that swiping to delete a name or number from that list often results in placing a call to that person. I've had to start going into Edit to clear those calls, which I never had to do previously.

All right moderators. Sorry if this goes out of the guidelines. But I have a question for everyone
As Metcalf said in his post about the September 14 event. iOS 15 will be coming on September 20. For Australia. That’s just tomorrow. For American users. It will also be tomorrow. But I’m pretty sure you guys are still on early morning Sunday

I'm signed into youtube on ios and have noticed that every time someone uploads or comments voiceover let's me know. The thing is; I don't want it to.

From what I understand in earlier versions of IOS voiceover/youtube notified you but only if you unmuted the phone, now it notifies me every time.

I know I can turn off notifications, in youtube but I don't want that either.
