Okay so this is a strange one, and the subject line says it all really.
Since I installed my latest update, two of my apps will not open. The tesco.com supermarket app, and The Google app. both can be perfectly opened by someone with site with VoiceOver switched off, but if VO is on, they just hang on the status bar, and yes, I have uninstalled, and reinstalled both, with the same result.
Even more strangely, one of my friends has had similar issues, but with different apps in his case. One being I messaging, and one being the Dolphin easy reader app.
Hello everyone, Would anyone be able to recommend an accessible podcast listening app allowing blind persons to bookmark certain passages as well as having a good variable speed function? I have come across EyeCatcher, which seems to have increments of .25 for the variable speed option but it does not permit bookmarking. On the other hand, there is an app simply called Bookmark, I believe, but it does not support variable speeds. I would like to have one that combines the two. I am trying to replace the Booksense player and rely solely on an iOS device for listening to all audio content.
iOS 17, latest update. iPhone 12 Pro, and Apple Magic keyboard, English US. When I activate the keyboard, I start getting a message saying "apps library search". There seems to be an edit box there, but I cannot get into typing mode on it. It interferes with apps I'm trying to use. I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. This never happened prior to the iOS update.
So I love TravelEar and DreamEar, especially their soundscapes revolving around trains, planes, car rides, etc. But they only have a certain number of soundscapes. I was wondering if there were other apps like this.
Hi, I had download TrueCaller and loved the idea of it, but when I downloaded it, there was a ton of accessibility issues with it. The app entry on here said it was fully accessible, so I downloaded it. any suggestions for similar apps that do the exact same thing?
I used to use an app called unrole.me to sort my emails. I just opened it and discovered that an update had broken accessibility. VO was reading the buttens for unsubscribe, role up and keep all on a singel swipe instead of as 3 buttons that could be clicked. I will try to contact the devs, but are any other apps like this one that are accessable?
Has anyone observed in general some apps are nicer on the iPhone than the iPad? Take UK online takeaway service Just Eat for example. Their iOS app is nicer on the iPhone than the iPad. I'm also wondering if the reverse is true, i.e. apps work nicer on the iPad than the iPhone? Any comments greatly appreciated. Thanks!
For some reason since the latest iOS update, abs are not always opening on the iPad. Anyone else experiencing this? For some reason since the latest iOS update, apps are not always opening on the iPad. Anyone else experiencing this
Hello all,
i figured I'd start this topic to help others who would like to use Screen Recognition in apps or games. Apple introduced Screen Recognition in hopes that it would make apps accessible.
if you would like to go ahead and post any apps that you know that works with Screen Recognition, feel free to post them in this topic.
Let's get the ball rolling.
I've been told several times that land surveyers and people who operate farm equipment have navigation systems that are accurate to within inches. Is there any way blind people can access these systems via apps running on an iPhone?
Hello all, For many years I have been using ClockTalk to announce the time every 5 minutes while I get ready for work in the morning to stay on track, however this is no longer on the store. I have tried a number of apps that are meant to do the same thing, but they are either not intuitive, accessible, or up-to-date. Does anybody know of something that works well, or should I look at contacting a developer to make something new?
Hi all!
I have a question about ebook buffet. I'm a cheap skate and a bookworm, so as you can imagine, I'm always looking for a good deal on books. Well, I heard about this app called Ebook Buffet, and thought I'd try it. But, I looked, and the dev hasn't updated it to be compatible with ios. 11. So, I was wondering if there were any similar apps? Thanks in advance.
Hello there.
I seem to be posting a lot of such topics but what can I do,I work on recommendations.=d

Hi all. I really enjoyed the guie photo pro app. Unfortunately it hasn't worked since IOs seven, and contacts to the developer have failed. Does anyone have any similar apps or was that the pot of gold that the leprikan took. Also while i haveit, has anyone gotten the cigness to work since IOS seven? I haven't been able too.
hi all, I have recently started creating shortcuts for apps on my phone for use with siri, and i've got some for weather gods, and dark sky weather. what I would like to know is, does anyone know of any accessible apps besides these two that work well with voiceover, and also have the ability to create siri shortcuts to work with them? I absolutely love using siri shortcuts where ever i can to not have to open an app.
Can anyone recommend a free app that converts time zones?
I have meetings with 2 different organizations. As a result, I deal with 3 time zones: Central time, Pacific time, and my time zone which is Eastern time. So, what I need is an app that can convert any time from those time zones into Eastern time. For example, converting 2 PM PT. into Eastern time.
I have tried asking Siri, and have not had any success. While I normally ask Amazon, but, I would like to have a backup in the form of an app.
