Thanks all,

Hi all,
I have a few ebooks with embedded audio files, and I'd like to figure out the best way to listen to them.
I first tried Apple Books on Mac and iPhone, but both freeze and do not load the files, as there are many. I do not know how to force them to load rather than getting stuck in this loop.
Second I tried Kindle, but I can't figure out how to tap on an audio file to play it. All double-tapping does is give me the book menu, and I can't do anything on Mac.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Daniel
Hello listers:
I found on applevis recommendations for four flash cards apps.
1. flashcards+ by chegg
2. flashcards ++ by jason lustig
3.gflash+ by gwhiz
4. Flashcards deluxe light by orangeor apple
I do not fully understand what the differences among them are. I would like to use the flash cards for learning foreign languages such as French, Spanish and Russian. Can you please let me know what are the strengths and weaknesses of these different apps? Why are you using one of these apps and not the others? Many thanks.
Good day. I downloaded soundscape, soundscape community which is named soundscape and voice vista. Can someone share the difference between the two sound scape programs? Wehn, I started them they both acted exactly the same. Also, I'd appreciate some thoughts on Voice vista and how it is used. Thanks.
Hi All!
Can you help? I need a quick and easy app to use for simple things like identifying cash, figuring out what's in the can of food I'm holding in my hand, or where I dropped my keys on the floor. I'm willing to pay, but I don't want to waste my money. Can anyone share their own experience and what they would get if they had to do it all over again?
Thank you! Big smile. I love this web site and how we all make life easier.
Joy!
Bruce
Hi all,
A quick question about the search box that has appeared on my iPhone home screen?
For some reason, a search box has appeared on my home screen and I don't know where it has come from. The box is just under the wi fi indicator on the left of the screen and just above the first row of app icons on the home screen. When I double tap the box I get the normal sound to write in the space provided but no keypad appears. Also, I'm not sure if this search box appears anywhere else i.e. once I've entered into an app.
Hello everyone,
Can someone explain to me what the speaking bar is? I do not know why this has happened and I have not seen it before but on the left hand side of my iPhone a button has suddenly appeared called the speaking bar. I have not even been into settings so I do not know where it came from. However, if I do a double click the top of the screen becomes a <rewind> <fast forward> screen with <decrease speaking rate> on the left and <increase speaking rate> on the right.
What's the jesture to get to the Notification Center? I have an SE with iOS 10. Thank you.
Hello,
On iOS10 I notice every once in a while I see this in the app switcher. It does this for a few of my apps. Like for example it says Uber based on current location, periscope based on current location, shipt based on current location, etc. Anyone know what that is? When I double tap on it it just pulls up the app. This is showing even when the app is not open.
What is the narrative context under Activities > Automatic Switching > Context in the Voiceover settings? Is there a way to switch to an activity automatically in continuous reading? I tried setting Narrative as the context for auto switching to see if it would apply in continuous reading, but no joy. I couldn't find documentation on these activity contexts. All of them seem self-explanatory except for Narrative.
Hi all,
I will try to keep this as short as possible so please try to bare with me,
Before start I would like to do a small annotation
AnonyMouse as always made excellent podcast about
http://www.applevis.com/podcast/episodes/exploring-some-new-features-ios-9
mention that only T/Mobile and At&T were the only carriers in US who support this feature Sprint offer this service as well :)
Does Wi-Fi Calling is the same as FaceTime?

Hello fellow Apple users!
I have a question that has been bugging me for a while now.
I love audiobooks. I have a very hefty library of purchased audiobooks. However, a while ago, I realized there are many books that are not available in audio. So I began experimenting with iBooks. I fell in love with the app at once. All of a sudden, I could read books that were previously unavailable to me.
I've been asked to do a presentation on the iPhone next month. Some already have them but I don't think the overall knowledge level is very high. So I am thinking that the best way to go is an overview of the most likely apps one might want to use. That leads to my question. I use KNFB Reader, but not everyone can afford the price. What would people recommend as an alternative solution for OCR?

Hi
Subject says it all, really. I'm looking to get a good to-do list app that works well with VoiceOver. Which is your favorite? So far I've been using a mix of notes and reminders, but I'd like a better solution if possible.
Best

Hello
I was just curious as to what Input method or custom keyboard everyone on here likes to use. I just recently updated to IOS8, and used to use Fleksy VO when I was on IOS7.
