Hi All,
This morning I downloaded the new Otter transcription app from AI Sense as I believed that adding AI to a transcription app would help those of use with sight issues who work in an academic environment would benefit from such an app.
However, after playing with the app for an hour or so, I am disappointed to report that the app is not accessible.
I was able to set-up an account and add my Google calender and contacts but that was as far as I could go.

Hello Everyone
Today I am meeting with the developers of the Otter.ai app. I am looking for feedback on the app's accessibility I can bring to them from the Applevis community. If you don't remember, Otter is an app that provides transcription of audio, and includes timestamps. The results are far better than the dictation service found in iOS directly but there are some accessibility shortcomings in the app. Here is the applevis ppost about it from a couple of years ago:
Hi folks,
I don't know what to say! I'll just drop the link for you all to test it out, and you'll see how amazing the results are. I honestly never thought it would happen this soon, but it's here. It's so fast that I can already imagine a million scenarios where I can make use of this tool. I hope it stays free, remains accessible, and keeps improving day by day. I thought ChatGPT was going to have this feature in the first place, but OpenAI left behind.
What’s your thought? The somewhat celebrated “live recognition“ feature in iOS 18 it’s just so erratic and outdated. I’m finding it’s pretty much the same feature and performance level as the live recognition that has been around in the Camera app for quite a while now. All Apple did was just make a app out of the same older technology.
Hi. If possible, can you do outline view on IOS with Keynote?
Thank you
When using outlook on iOs the delete and actions along with calendar section and search disappears when selecting multiple messages.
steps- Launch voiceover
- Launch outlook
- Triple tap or do a pass through gesture to select one message.
- Select another message with a double tap or a split tap.
- Repeat until you have all messages disappear
you should be able to swipe or explore by touch and see "move to," "delete," "mark as read," and "calendar," and "search," and "mail" under that.
I am totally blind and use an iPhone 11 with voiceover. I wonder if anyone can tell me what features are available for outlook on an iPhone and what you need to pay? how accessable is it using VO.
We at our company have migrated to Microsoft 360 and I have an E3 license for Office. Which means I can have Outlook running on my IOS device.
Outlook is a tool by Microsoft that manages mail communication, calander appoinments etc.
IOS 14.4 My concern for today is that although I have sound notifications turned on for Outlook I many times miss out on meetings that have been scheduled in my calendar. Reminders have been set to remind me 10 minutes before the start of the meeting.
Hi i have a few questions about outlook for iOS 1 can you turn off automatic checking for email? If so how? 2 can you set your account as pop3? If so how?
Hi, can you set your outlook up as pop3? if so how? Can you prevent outlook from automatically checking for mail? Thanks
Hi, I can't change my name it got my name wrong in Outlook for iOS. How do you change this?
I am looking at over the air DVR options as a way to cut TV costs. I have done some research and found discussions about the TiVo Bolt and the Amazon Fire Recast as great options for over the air recording. Both of these systems say they work on iOS. Is there a recommendation for one over the other? Are either of these accessible or is there a more accessible option? Thank you
I am seeing a few posts about apps no longer working with voiceover, so I wanted to check in on this one. Out of nowhere, I have been having accessibility issues with Overcast. Specifically, there doesn’t seem to be a way to close the now playing screen using VO. Has anyone else had issues?
I've been using overcast for a while now and like it, but I'm wondering, is there a way to play episode 1 to 100, I'll listen to something like Welcome to Nightvale 1, then instead of playing ep 2, it plays the last episode released, can anyone help?
