Odd text message behavior

By Chris, 22 September, 2013

iOS and iPadOS
Running IOS 7.01 on a 5S. When I type a text message with the onscreen keyboard or using dictation, three odd things occur. 1. My message is not read back to me when touching the text box as it did before in IOS 6. 2. My message is read back to me twice, even though it is only there once. 3. there is often a letter G spoken either before or after my message, even though I did not enter that character. Apologies if these peculiar things have been mentioned before.

I can answer the third one, the G is where your finger was last. That should not get typed if you do things correctly. I do notice the other things, but I just let it go. It's not that much of a nuisance. Good luck and be blessed.

I, too, have this problem. And no, it isn't because my finger was last on G. I get this alot after dictating a message. No rhyme or reason for it that I can figure.

In the past when you pasted text into an edit field when writing a text message, it would automatically read it out to you but it doesn't do that in IOS7. Also when composing a new text message, it is more trickier to navigate around the edit fields. I also get the issue with an extra character at the end of messages but I think it is due to the touch screen being oversenstive. It is especially noticable when using the keyboard in touch typing mode.
