iOS and iPadOS

Dear applevis users.
I'd appreciate your help a lot. I now have 2 IPhones, they are both IPhone5s.
I have switched to another cellphone service provider and with my contract I got an IPhone5s. Its color is black and its called space gray or something like that.
this latest IPHone has the latest I O S, version9.
I use both phones for music, when the one phone charges, I use the other for music. With this new IPhone5s, I have the problem that, while I am listening to music , while voice over speaks the music does not go softer.

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else having this issue? Only in music app the volume of my music randomly lowers itself when headphones are connected. It happens with all types of headphones and only when VO is on. This problem doesn’t occur if I turn VO speech off when listening to the music. My settings are all good. Sound check and reduce loud sounds are turned off.

Thanks

On the off chance that somebody uses any of these, I thought I'd ask. Not just a tuner app that generates tones, but you know, a tampura, shruti box, stuff like that. In other words, drones you can play over musically. I'm not coming across anything, but I'm guessing they exist and I'm just not hitting the right terms. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Hi folks,
I'd like to begin to use my iPhone on stage to play synths ETC. during my performances, but, I don't want my audience to hear VoiceOver as I navigate the screen between songs, or make adjustments while I play.
First of all, any thoughts?
Second, my thought is to have two sound outputs, music out of one, and VO out of another one.
What is the best way to do this?

thanks!
Rusty

Hi folks,
I'm interested in knowing if any of these apps are accessible.
They are not extremely expensive, but would like to know before I spend.
Impaktor is an app which listens with the mic and then takes that sound and interprets it in to drumb sounds.
Gyrosynth uses the gyroscope in your phone to let you maike music by swooshing your phone through the air.

They are supported as far back as IOS 5.0. does this mean they have a better chance at being accessible?

Thanks!
Rusty

Is there a way to mute audio on the iPhone without resorting to turning the volume all the way down? Is there some shortcut I'm not aware of?

I'm amazed that after 8 years of iPHONE use, I cannot figure this out. I'm going to call in to a meeting on Tuesday when I'm riding in a noisy vehicle. I want to keep myself on mute until my input is requested.

I tried calling myself, using my desk phone to call my iPHONE so I could play around with the call screen. According to numerous articles on the web the "call screen" appears when you are on a live call and there's a mute button on this screen.

Is there a way to have speech turned off automatically every time you make a call?

Alright
So
Today I was with my support worker and we were getting directions to a shop,
So I asked Siri to get directions, all that Jazz
Finally I give up on using Siri since it doesn’t wanna work, so I go onto the Apple maps app search up the address and I start my roots in the car
As we’re travelling along, I have my Spotify playlist on.
Somewhere over the line I find a song I don’t like, so I attempt to go to the next button whilst on my lock screen, but nope, I can’t find it. And here is my reason.

So I came back to Apple music again and usually I can access my playlists from there but now I can no longer see my playlists. Apple Music is on and I know this because I tried to play a few songs and they all worked. Where are my playlists?

I thought my Logitech keyboard and Zagg keyboards both had their own internal caps lock function, independent of iOS. This causes the caps lock to ingauge with a single press of the key when using it as the VO modifier, and I have to press it a second time to turn off the caps every time I used a VO key command. The thinking being, the keyboard doesn't know it's being used as the VO key. This has been the case since the function was added a while back, and makes the single-key modifier not so useful because I lose track of whether the caps are locked or not.

My twin brother Larry doesn't have a profile set up with Applevis so I'm sending this problem along. He can download iOS 11.03 but when it comes time to install, he gets a message saying cannot install iOS 11.03. What are his options at this point? going back is probably not available for him. He is currently using iOS 11.02. thank You!

Hi all,

Happy new year! I hope this year is a good one for you all.

I would like to share my experience trying Door detection and people detection in iOS 16.

As of yesterday, I recently got a chance to play with my cousins iPhone 13 Pro Max. I was able to put both Door Detection and People Detection in iOS 16 through its paces.

Throughout my experience trying out the features, Voiceover was able to tell me how far or close the person/door is.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I just used the Be My Eyes app for the very first time, and I'm very glad I did! I had actually gotten it right when the app came out, but hadn't needed to use it until just a bit ago. I own a Windows 7 64-bit pc, and for whatever reason, it locked up, and it wouldn't reboot. It kept coming to an error screen and I didn't know what to do. I have enough vision that I can tell it was an error message, because the background color of the screen was different than the screen I'm used to. So, what to do?

After being on iOS 18 for a while I wanted to share my experiences.

The biggest feature I like is that you can now use your device just like if you are using a Braille display. To do this, you Double-tap the far edges until you hear VoiceOver say, "Braille Screen Input" once you hear that, swipe right with three fingers and VoiceOver will say, "Command Mode." Once you hear that, you can enter Braille Chords as if you were using a Braille Display.

Anyone else have different experiences with the new iOS 18 update?

Hi all, I have been looking for apps that would allow me to broadcast live streams from my iPhone 5, and I stumbled upon this app. I think that it has the potential to be a cool and simple solution for blind and visually impaired users who wish to record a podcast/live broadcast on the go or over Wifi.

Hello. I wrote some feedback to apple reguarding new ideas for speach synthisizers for the iphone. Please read this, and let me know if sounds like some good ideas. to apple feedback Hello. I was wondering if its possible to add a few speach synthisizers to voice over in the next ios release. The first speach synthisizer I would like to bring to your attention is Alex for the mac. I have used a mac, and really love the Alex voice that comes standard with voice over for the mac. It is verry easy to understand, and it works well with voice over.
