I have read some news reports, that, as part of IOS 12, Apple will implement "Live Listen" for Airpod users, helping to amplify surrounding sound for those, who have some challenges with hearing but are not formally using hearing aids. Has anyone in the Applevis community come across this and, if so, can you please give your initial impressions of how useful this might be? According to the reports, which apparently include Mac Rumours, this feature was not mentioned at WWDC.

Dear all, after updating my iPhone 15 to iOS 18, I turned life recognition on and set this option to the rotor. Initially, it worked fine and I could either read a piece of text or hear descriptions of the surrounding, etc. Some time later, VoicoOver stopped announcing the results. I have all options on regarding screen recognition and life recognition. Any suggestions how to fix the problem strongly appreciated. Warm greetings and thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any recommendations for reasonably accessible live streaming apps that allow you to stream audio and/or video live over the Internet? I am also looking to be able to share this live streaming audio over Twitter and/or Facebook.
I am presently using TwitCasting Live, but, IMO, the audio on it is, quite frankly, pretty crappy. I'm looking for something with at least a little better audio than this.

In earlier versions of iOS, I could use the "Load Earlier Messages" button to see older messages in a messages thread. This button no longer seems to be present in iOS 8.x. What is the new method for obtaining message histories?
I have an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 8.1.1.

Hello,
Has anyone been able to figure out how to load earlier messages in iOS 8? In iOS 7, there used to be a button that said "load earlier messages," but this button is no longer present in iOS 8. VO just says "in progress" and I cannot find any of the older messages in my conversations.

I downoaded the ap location alarm and have absolutely no idea where to enter an address. Would the person who suggested the app please post how to do this? I'd love to recommend this app to others but need to know how to use it first. I only see in the add area map sattelite or hibrid and no particular place for address. Thanks.

I've asked siri to remind me of something when I get home each of the last 2 days and yet it hasn't worked.
I have myself as a contact in my contacts and my home address is in the card and it's labeled home, and under privacy settings I've gone in under location services to reminders and set that to when using app and precise location is on. What else do I need to do? I don't need to have the reminders app open do I? I thought using siri would bypass that.

My husband is both sighted and a map fiend. So whenever I am somewhere different, I use a little free app called "Here's My location" to report the data from Location services to him. It can email either someone from your address book or email a single "favorite" with a single button. (It can text that information too if you use an iPhone.)
This app is quite simple, because you open it and double-tap one button to send your location to your favorite recipient.
I ride paratransit, and we often stop to pick someone up.

Does anyone know if while on the lock screen in iOS 13 by swiping right it goes onto the status bar. Is this meant to happen? Also on a 2nd query since upgrading if a notification arrives a couple of seconds later if you haven't checked out the notification VO now announces the time. This happens everytime I get a new notification.

Hi there, I have been grumbling to myself and my wife for a long time about this and now I'm coming here to ask questions! When ever I receive a notification, email or text, my phone wakes up and either begins to read the subject or I scroll through the lock screen to find the info. But, it usually goes back to sleep too quickly for me to hear the subject of the email, or the content of the text! Is there any way to adjust this?

After updating my SE 2020, I can no longer get it to read the notifications when they pop up.
All I hear is new notification, or it speaks the time.
I have to swipe the screen to find out what the messsage. Speak notifications is on. They’re no focus options set up.
Do I have to reset the phone? I really don[t look foward to doing that. Is there a workaround or do I have to put up with this until the next update?

Hi. I locked myself out of an iPod 5 and an iPhone 3GS by entering too meny wrong passcodes. Then it said device is disabled connect to iTunes. So I did that 1 device at a time and iTunes then told me to unlock to continue. I could not do that because the device did not even notice that I had connected to iTunes so it said it was disabled. So then I put it in dfu or recovery mode or whatever and then it let me start a restore, but would not finish.

I gave my old iPod touch fifth-generation to a friend a while back. either her or one of her sons got locked out of the device because they entered the wrong password and we are trying to get it back up and running again. The message on the screen says iPod disabled connect to iTunes. The problem is that my MacBook Pro is now running Catalina and I don't think it will recognize the iPod touch fifth-generation because the iPod is too old. it's a 128 gig unit and my friend wants to use it so I hope that we can get it running again. Please help.

Since updating to ios 15 which I regret. I am getting a much more pronounced click when I get a notification on a locked screen which is annoying the hell out of me. To the point where at night I need to either turn voice over off or put the phone on do not disturb. I never had this issue until I did the 15 update. Does anyone know what I can do? Again, a loud click as the screen unlocks then it says " one new notification" and the screen locks again.
I hate this update.

Hi all,
just wondering, is it possible to lock apps & services even apart from the screen lock feature. Quite often the phone reads all the incoming watsapp messages smses as they tricle in. To me it is more of a security risk. Pleae help. Using an iphone6.
