I am trying to learn some things about Hokusai too. I found a clip of a record scratch, which has a bunch of silence before the actual scratching sound and I’m trying to find the same way to get rid of all the silence. Is there an easy way to do that? I know there is probably a way to somehow move the recording head where the play head to where I want it and which I’m still trying to figure out and then cut out the silence, but I am trying to see if there’s another way to do that. Any help would be very welcome.

Hi. In Hokusai, I have figured how to import a file to work on and cut a smaller part out of a bigger file and export the cut part, but I can not figure out how to do much else. When I tried to join files together, they played all at the same time instead of one after the other? How do I make them play one after the other and how do I insert blank parts so there is a gap in play between tracks? How do I pick how long that gap is? Also, I also did the full in-app upgrade for $10 to get all the effects and filters and stuff, but I can not figure out how to apply any of the filters or effects.

Hi all,
If there are any long time or experienced users of Hokusai II, is there a way, when we're monitoring audio when we're recording on a track, to know if what your recording clips? I'm asking because I saw this function in ferite recording studio, to monitor clipping, and when the audio clips, you get a beep to let you know that this is the case. Can this be done in Hokusai II?

Hello,
I am using voiceover and a Mantis 40 braille display with qwerty keyboard. I have written a block of text which must be emailed to many individuals. I selected and copied the text to the clipboard and was able to paste the text into three email messages. But when I issued the Command V paste command in the fourth email, the text did not appear in the message as expected. I had to return to the pages app, reselect the block of text again, and reissue the copy command.

Hi All,
I was asked today by someone if the Thompson's Holidays app is accessible? If not, are there any other apps that you can use?
I wasn't sure myself, so would anyone be able to help here?
Cheers
Hubert

We're pleased to announce that from December 1 through January 1, we are reducing the price of the Digit-Eyes app for the holidays to just $9.99! If you want to get only the UPC scanning or only the QR code audio labeling, those features are available separately for $4.99. We've also reduced the price of our washable labels to $14.95 plus shipping. This is your change to get some terrific products at an exceptionally favorable price. We hope that everyone has a happy holiday (and that our pricing contributes to it!) Best Wishes, Nancy Miracle

Is the home app from Apple 100% accessible with voiceover? I can't find the app in the app list.

Even when I have the rotation lock off in the control center, my home screen stays in portrait. Is this normal?

Hi all.

In order to get the screen to reorient to landscape, I have to be in an app. If I go back to the home screen, it always reorients to portrait, and the orientation doesn't change if I put the phone in landscape on the home screen. It also won't initially reorient if I put it in landscape. Yes, orientation lock is off, I checked that first thing.

Has this been mentioned before? When unlocking the phone and going to the home screen, Voiceover says the name of the last app I opened followed by the first icon on my home screen which is the clock app for example it will say WhatsApp followed by clock.

Hello, I am interested in getting a home security system, and I am really interested to find out which provider makes the most accessible apps. The company I am considering is Xfinity, and I am eager to gather as much information as I can about the accessibility of there apps. So, if you have Xfinity home, and or if you know anyone who does, can you please post in regards to the accessibility. If you don't have Xfinity, but you do have a home security system, and the apps of that provider seem to have decently accessible apps to control the components of the system, please inform me of that as

Greetings, I’m a voiceover user but I can see a very little bit. I need to use several HomeKit security cameras. In iOS 13 I was able to flick between the different timestamps to go back and look at detected items and recordings. But I am not able to and iOS 14.

Has anybody else tried to use voiceover with HomeKit secure
Video? I’m having A number of problems in the home app under iOS 14.X that I did not have with 13. Would love to discuss issues with others using the home app.

Hello. Since updating to 13.2.1 on my HomePod, my HomePod doesn’t play my playlists. Despite going into the Home app and looking through all the obvious and relevant settings, it doesn’t seem to play my playlist. The only way I can, is to use my iPhone and ask Seery to put shuffle my playlist on my HomePod. Anyone know if this is a OS update issue, or is there a setting or something that I’m not doing right? Thanks for your help

somebody just sent me a text that included a picture of a poster. My SE 2022 read the whole poster beautifully. Just a few months ago, I wouldn’t have gotten the laugh that this poster created. Thanks, Apple.

A few months ago, someone who had actually downloaded my Gmail reader app ("Reader+ for Gmail") asked if it could use voice commands like Siri to help a blind person (her mother) read email messages. Luckily, iOS 10 which was just released about a month ago added the ability for developers to use Apple's voice recognition technology in their apps.

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me. I searched for and added the “skip back” and “skip forward” commands to my shortcuts. My desire is to map the 4-finger flick left and 4-finger flick right Voiceover commands to “skip back” and “skip forward” respectively. I also desire to activate “skip back” and “skip forward” via Voice Control in iOS 13 and above. Here’s the rub. Though I succeeded in all of these mappings, I am always shown a confirmation prompt. In simple text form, it consists of the 4 following items. Note that for item 3, it also could say “Run Skip forward”.

Hi. Well, last week when I used my hotspot on my iPhone 4s it worked good. Yesterday I went to use it and my iPod 5 and my BrailleNote Apex which both used to be able to connect do not connect anymore. The hotspot still shows up in the network list as Jessica's iPhone, but when trying to connect to it it is stuck on in progress and I have the correct password. It used to work and I have not changed my phone plan or any of my phone's settings. Also, everything else on the phone still works. I can use the phone and texting and all the apps and everything.

I was using 2 apps for reminding me each hour.
Almost time, and hourly chime, these 2 apps are not working after Ios15 update, notifications are on, and for sure am not using the focus mode, so in your opinion, what can cause this?
I need these 2 apps to work with me.
Thanks in advance

I have used the app called Chime for a couple of years. It will not work after I updated to iOS 18. I have tried two other similar apps, neither of which seem to work. Do these apps need to be connected with the Clock? I didn’t think so, but maybe I am missing something.
