I can't get dictation to work in whatsapp. It working on emails and messages. The magic tap makes the sound and I get a message to say "thinking" but nothing appears in the edit field. I updated to the latest version of the app a few days ago.

Hi its Carlos,
I was trying to dictate my billing and mailing address in to apple pay.
When I use the dictation it lets me say my first name and sometimes my last name.
But when I try to dictate my address it makes the noice like I hit the home button or something like it and brings me back to the home screen.
Some times it has done that when I was trying to enter my last name as well.
it has happened in the billing and shipping address fields.
Has anyone encountered problems like this?

When dictating a text message or email, how can you insert punctuation? Do you just say period, question mark, comma, etc? Thanks.

Sent a message to a friend. One sentence, dictation turned off. It wouldn't restart. Using a 12 and latest IOS. Once again apple congratulations for putting out an inferior product. Time to be a bitch and email and call and show them in person.

I'm having an issue with voice dictation and trying to capitalize an entire phrase where every letter in every word within that phrase is uppercase. I'm using the command "All caps on...[phrase]" but when I do that it inserts the word "ON" and only uses uppercase letters for the o and n in the word ON like this "ON...[phrase]". None of the following text is uppercase. I'm using iOS 18.4.1 on an iPhone 13 Max. Am I missing something? Thanks

I've a couple of questions about voices and speech in iOS 9.

First, can someone tell me the difference between the speech settings directly under accessibility and the speech settings under Voiceover? I noticed there are speed settings under both areas, but only the speed setting under speech in Voiceover effects the speaking rate. The other setting seems to have no effect. So what do the speech settings directly under accessibility control? Why have speech settings in 2 places?

Has anyone found a good dictionary that works with voiceover? My student will be using it on an iPad. Thank you!

Hi All,
I'm looking for a dictionary app that will read the word letter by letter. The ones that I have tried free and paid will not do this. Maybe there is a settin on my phone or I pad that I'm missing that can make this work for me.
Thanks John

Was setting up an iPhone 16e for my girlfriend the other day that we managed to get at a good price, and couldn't help thinking how much I actually like the phone.
I have a 16 pro max personally, the base 256GB one, but when I was using the 16e, I realised I couldn't help but appreciate how simple it was. Nice, compact, fast, and just the essentials that you need in a phone.
I found the battery to be really good as well, and that's been consistent since after the setup, I also prefer the speakers the 16e, which I believe someone else here said at one point.

I opened up the YouTube iOS app today and I’m noticing on all the videos I pull up, there’s no more time scrubber. I have the buttons to go forward or backward, but that’s it. Hoping this is just a temporary glitch. This would be a serious Impediment to navigating within a YouTube video if it’s gone now or otherwise inaccessible.

Good time everyone. I was searching through our settings>general>language, and I found out that there are different types of English. What are they differences? I understand about the accents, but what are the difference in writing style.

Hi, can anyone tell me the difference between the Sendero gps look around, and the Ariadne gps. I now they both don't have turn by turn. I don't want to buy both apps. Is one more accessible than the other? Is one more accurate? Thanks for any help.

As the subject says, I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between standard speed and high speed in the speech settings of Speech Central. I have tried searching but I've found nothing. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi all. Feel free to move this if necessary to another forum. I just read a post on here about mowing the lawn with an iPhone in tow, and that got me thinking about something. What is the difference between the compass app and other GPS apps out there? I guess this isn't specific to Apple products, but I'm of course asking as an iPhone user. I know that at least some of these GPS apps provide turn-by-turn directions. Back in fifth grade I used a hand-held Braille compass with an O&M instructor, and it was pretty cool.

I'd like to receive different sound alerts for mails from different senders while still keeping them in their separate folders. From what I understand, you can choose a different sound for different folks you add to your vip folder. But that would mean having all of these mails in one place, which makes no sense since I use different folders for different mailinglists etc.. Any suggestions how to have my cake and eat it? :-)

His appears to be something new in 9.3 tha is VO related. I'm noticing that punctuations and paces are being announced in a different voice now. I use Alex for my main voice, and am hearing Daniel announcing if I read over a punctuation. Not sure if this is a setting with VO, or with the speak screen option or what, and if any setting regarding this can be changed.

I have some accessibility challenges with the UberEATS app. When they added the ability to add restaurants to favorites, The restaurant listing no longer behaves properly with VoiceOver. There are headings within the listing such as "new on UberEats," under 30 minutes," "your go-to's," Etc. but none of the restaurant names beneath these headings are announced with VoiceOver. As I flick right I only hear the favorite button being announced for each item.

Greetings all!
Using my iMac (OS High Sierra), I have been scanning in hard copy documents using an Epson printer/scanner and saving them as PDF files. Unfortunately, I have been unable to read said files using voiceover on my iPhone 7-plus. Should I get a more robust PDF creator that is compatible with my Epson scanner that allows me to make editable PDF files? I've heard good things about the VoiceDream Reader app; should I just get that? Or should I get an OCR reader? Thank you!

Hello,

Today I had to explain to a friend how to change the home screen wallpaper on his iPhone.

Since I haven't done it in a while, I wanted to check how exactly it was done. I went to Settings -> Wallpaper -> Home Screen Wallpaper. A window popped up with some controls on the bottom of the screen.

That window for customizing the home screen wallpaper however did not stay on the screen for long. After a few seconds, it disappeared. And that happens every time I invoke it.

I even restarted the phone, but the behavior did not change.
