Hi all, I've been toying with jumping into the Sonos ecosystem, however after all the problems with the app being broken for Voiceover support I have been holding off.
What is the current state of accessibility? Is it okay for me to invest in a Sonos product right now, or should I either hold off longer, or just not bother at all.
What is the current accessibility status of I Heart Radio? I have tried to set up an account on it and found the process difficult at best. There were some discussions of this in 2010, which seem to indicate that it worked but was difficult to use. Are there alternative apps that cover a similar number of stations but are more accessible? I would pay for a more accessible app if it were current and competitive.
Here is an example:
Mostly sunny currently. The high will be -5°. Clear tonight with a low of -11°.
The current temperature has been missing since iOS 8. This is random. Sometimes it shows the current temperature but mostly it doesn't. I need to open the weather app to find out what the current temperature is. Then I have to close it again.
I updated to the latest version of Oko yesterday, and then opened the app to check its new features. When I did this, I was surprised to read that due to business reasons, Oko was no longer available in my region. I contacted the Oko team to find out why this was going on; perhaps it was a bug of some kind? When I checked my Email this morning, I received some shocking news from the team they had investigated the issue with the enginering team, and since switching to their subscription model a month ago, they had decided to mae Oko unavailable across Canada.
When I try typing in to edit fields using my iPhone 8 running IOS 13.3.1 the focus keeps moving, particuarly frustrating when trying to fill in passwords. So as I type I get voiceover msgs sayng insertion point has moved or the insertion point has changed.
Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on and how I can fix this?
This has been happening across several versions of IOS 13 and not just the latest iteration of the software.
Frequently when inputting text in a text field Voiceover will say "new line" and the cursor moves from the end of the line to the left side of the last character typed. I have not gone anywhere near the return key when it happens. I'm using the onscreen keyboard and iPad Pro, latest IOS. Can anyone think of what I'm doing to cause this? I often do reboots (home plus power buttons) for various other odd behaviors but it has not helped with this one. Thank you.
A low-vision friend complained that, after she upgraded to iOS 18, she discovered the text cursor is now light blue and almost impossible to see. Are there any low vision users here that can provide some settings that might make the text cursor easier to see? Thanks.
Is it possible to have a custom equalizer while listening to Apple music?
Or should I just use Spotify for that? Spotify has a custom equalizer built in.
Hi guys, I was wondering if you could help me. Basically I'm wondering if the custom gestures feature in ios five point one point one is compatible with VoiceOver and zoom. Many thanks, :)
Hello all. Who here is familiar with diii notify? I've seen it brought up but haven't found any posts specifically about it. My main inquiry is regarding using custom sounds. I managed to upload them to the app but am having a hard time configuring the sounds and when I would like them to play. In my case, I uploaded an entire batch of grandfather clock chimes and want them to sound accordingly in 15 minute intervals. ANy help is appreciated.
I've been given a couple of new tones to use on my phone. Last night I transferred one tone using the automatically add to iTunes folder and when I synced my phone the tone got transferred, but the new tone only shows up in my ring tones list but not under text tones. I'd rather use it as a text tone than a ring tone because I receive a lot more texts on my phone than I do phone calls, but how can I make this happen when the only place the new tone shows up in settings is under ring tones but not under text tones?
Hi, A couple of days back I received my shiny new iPhone15 pro. I transferred everything over from my iPhone12 pro with no problem apart from all the custom ringtones I'd made didn't appear on the new phone. I tried airdropping them across with no joy. Interestingly, When I transfered everything over from an iPhone11 to my old iPhone12 pro prior to it going to it's new owner all the ringtones moved across no problem. Has anyone else had an issue like this or perhaps someone has found a way to get their custom tones on to the new iPhones.
i’m not sure where to post this topic so if I’m posting it in the wrong place please do let me know, I think it would be really cool for Apple to add custom sound themes for voiceover. sometimes I get tired of the same sounds and I want to try something new in interesting, what do you guys think
Is there a way to set custom sounds for push notifications? I know you can do it for general things like email and apps themselves, but I would like to find a way to make each app notification have their own sound. For example, my Facely HD app is use for birthday alerts, while my Facebook app itself alerts are for status updates. They both have the same sound so I have to actually look at the phone to determine which one is alerting me. I know I could use an app like Push 4.0 but the alerts are limited to whatever apps they support. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hello!
Last night I upgraded to iOS 17 on my iPhone 14 Pro.
Everything works smoothly for now except I can't set the custom message tones in the Sound and Vibration settings. I see the new ones just as the old ones under "Classic" but there are no my custom made tones I have been using for the last eleven years.
Does anyone experienced the same problem and what would be the solution for it?
TIA
Hello. I have created a number of voiceover custom gestures that make navigating my old iPhone a bit easier for me. My question is, if I were to get a new phone, our custom gestures backed up to the cloud, so that I do not have to do them all over again on my new device. Or, are they backed up so that when a reset is necessary, the gestures do not have to be done over again. Thank you for any help that can be given on this matter.
Hello,
I have a joint issue in my hand, so I need to avoid too much repetitive motion. Because of this, I enjoy using grouped navigation to avoid swiping through clutter.
However, I use several non-standard apps and websites. They have many elements I must navigate through to reach what I'm looking for. Some of them even have "categories" (i.e., a cluster of elements at the bottom that should be a tab group but is not labeled as such to VO).
Is there any way I can create my own interactable navigation groups within apps or Web pages?
Hi all, I am trying to replace some text in an app, and wondering if I can use wildcards.
For the shredder chess app, I have been able to replace the algebraic notation such as b1 with bravo 1 to make it easier to understand what column the app is referring to, via the voiceover pronunciation settings.
However, I also need to have it speak out a line in the app that shows the following:
evaluation-1.2
This line refers to the current evaluation of the game, sometimes it shows a plus sign, sometimes a minus sign.
