Do I need a better keyboard?

Hi all.

I have one of the iClever keyboards, the bk10 I think. It's not bad except for the space working a little hard. But I was trying to use it with the iPhone, the XR in case that matters, and while it seemed like it was working, hitting left and right together didn't seem to want to go into quick nav. This would be under 18.4.X, it's updating to 18.5 while I'm writing this.

I'm guessing it's something with the phone, possibly with the Bluetooth hardware, because quick nav with the arrows toggles on and off just like it should on the Mac. But I figured I'd check, just in case it could be the keyboard, or there's something way better out there. I thought about getting the Magic keyboardwith the touch sensor, but that would only work with the Mac.

I've also been kicking around the idea of a folding iClever keyboard, I thought this one was but it turned out I was wrong. I think the Logitech K380 is a bit too small for full-time work, I'd want to use the keyboard for the Mac as well. This one has a numpad but I haven't used it for anything at all, so I could probably get away with not having one, unless it's desperately needed for Logic or Ableton.

So if anybody has suggestions, either about the specifics of getting thisone fully working with the iPhone or something you like better I should take a look at, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance for the help everybody.

I bought Apple's USB-c Magic Keyboard with Keypad and TouchID along with a custom-built iMac last year, love the typing experience, and it works perfectly as a Bluetooth Apple keyboard on iOS devices except for the TouchID sensor and button. The only problem with this keyboard is that, at roughly 230€ including VAT here in Portugal, it's a bit on the expensive side. Also, since my iPhone and iPad are still both Lightning, I could not check whether the keyboard also works tethered through USB-c; I did try connecting it using the Lightning to USB-c cable, but that did not work; I also have the Lightning to USB-a adapter, and several USB-a to USB-c adapters, but couldn't bother testing such a contraption.

If you want a better folding keyboard, you should check out the ones from Protoarc. My wife has their XK01 full size folding keyboard and really likes it. I have their XK04 65% size folding keyboard. That one's small enough to fit in a pocket. I find that the space bar works better with my left thumb. I couldn't get used to the iClever folding keyboard I tried, but this Protorarc one is grat. One big positive is that they don't move the keys into strange positions. Also, by holding down the fn key, you get the multimedia keys and things like that.
I also really like my Nuphy Air75 mechanical keyboard. I'm typing on the v2 version and they're just releasing the V3 now. Another nice relatively compact and very quiet board is the Logitech MX Keys Mini. I have a lapdesk which make it better when travelling. The spacing and typing feel are super, but I really like a flatter bottom on my lap. There's a full size MX Keys as well but again, it's similarly heavy and awkward for travel. Great for use at a desk though.
