We're excited to announce that inductions into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame are set to re-open.

These were suspended for the past two months so that we could focus on the AppleVis Golden Apple Awards. Now that those have all been handed out, it's time once again to find another app worthy of a place in our Hall of Fame.

Each month, the AppleVis Editorial Team selects an iOS or Mac app which has been submitted to the site in the previous month that we believe to be a must-download. This app can be from any category, and is chosen because our Team members think that it is the pick of all the apps posted in that month.

Most of you will probably have noticed that a few stray podcasts have appeared on this site over the past week.

This is something new that we've been testing, and as it appears to be working, I guess it's about time that I actually mention it!

So yes, we now have an AppleVis Podcast. You can even find us in iTunes.

"Hurrah", I hear you all say.

Some of you may have noticed a slight increase over the past few weeks in the number of spam posts making it onto the site. In most cases the automated bots responsible for these will try to make just a single post, but earlier this morning we were hit by about 20 spam posts in just a few minutes. Fortunately I was online at the time, so was able to quickly remove these and block the account from posting any more.

The AppleVis community has voted the first generation AirPods the winner of its World Cup of the Decade, beating Apple Pay by 55% to 45% in the final.

Whilst Apple's AirPods weren't the first truly wireless earphones, the combination of ease of use; solid audio performance; long battery life; good call quality; and a price point that compares well with competitors, make them one of Apple's most ground-breaking products of recent years.

I'm pleased to announce that you can now submit Mac apps to the AppleVis website.

The operation and structure of the Mac App Directory is very similar to the existing directory for iOS apps, and submitting apps is just as quick and easy.

Each month the AppleVis Editorial Team take a look at all the apps that have been posted to the AppleVis website during that month and decide which is our pick - the one app that stood out from all the rest.

Quite frankly, August was a lean month for noteworthy apps. Unlike some recent months, when the decision was made hard by the number of high quality apps that were in the mix, the choice this month was difficult because so many of the apps were mediocre at best.
