The AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame

Welcome to the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame, where we acknowledge and celebrate the apps that exemplify all that is great about owning an iDevice.

Our goal is to showcase the passion and hard work that app developers put into creating great apps that are fully accessible to VoiceOver users. These apps place powerful tools into the palms of our hands, and give access to services, information, media or entertainment that the sighted world takes for granted.

Apps are nominated by the community. Twice each year a shortlist is compiled from these nominations and a vote is held to determine which should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Light Detector

Light Detector uses the camera on an iDevice to transform any natural or artificial light source that it encounters into sound. You will hear a higher or lower sound depending upon the intensity of the light.

Each year we stage 2 public votes to select the apps which the community believes are worthy of induction into the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame.

The shortlist for each vote is compiled from nominations made by the community.

The vote for the next induction will be held in August.

Each month we induct 1 additional app into the Hall of Fame. So, if you think there is an app that deserves to be inducted, you can nominate it for a future vote.

At times it may be necessary to temporarily suspend an induction or in extreme circumstances revoke it completely.

These decisions are not taken lightly, but are essential to maintain the integrity and value of the Hall of Fame.
