Welcome to AppleVis

A community-powered website for blind and low-vision users of Apple's range of Mac computers, the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and the Apple TV.

AppleVis strives to empower the community by offering multiple pathways to access and share relevant and useful information. As a community, we seek to encourage and support people in exploring the many ways in which these mainstream products and related applications can offer opportunities to the vision-impaired for personal enrichment, independence and empowerment.

AppleVis also offers resources and mechanisms for raising awareness of the accessibility of Apple products and related applications, and for promoting further advancement in accessibility.

Getting Started With Using VoiceOver on Your First Mac or iOS Device

If you’ve just got your first Mac or iOS device, congratulations!

We’ve compiled a list of selected content from right across the AppleVis website which we believe will answer most of your initial questions and help you to quickly learn your way around VoiceOver.

Please note that these lists contain only a taste of the help and information that is available on this website, but they do provide a great place to start learning about your new Mac, iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

Also be sure to browse our iOS and Mac App Directories, in which you will find information submitted by our community on the accessibility of 1000s of applications.

If you are looking for iOS apps that have been developed specifically for blind or low vision users and which will help you in your daily life, you can find our list of these here.
