an odd issue with my iPhone's touch screen?

Hello!
Currently, I'm having a very odd problem with my phone, and I'm curious if anyone else is having similar difficulties, or knows of any solutions. My touch screen appears to be locking up when overused. So, for example, when I've been using my phone for quite a while, the touch screen will, either slowly or all at once, become completely unresponsive. If I lock the screen and let it set for a minute or so, I'll be able to get about five seconds of touch in before the screen freezes again. The longer I let my phone sit, the longer I will be able to use the screen. letting it die for several hours consistently produces about a day of use. I don't think this is a hardware issue, though I could be wrong. But if it was, I'd think the screen wouldn't work at all, or would be more erratic in its working, and when it's doing what I want, the screen works perfectly. and when it isn't, it works not at all. Any tips? a soft reset does not fix the problem, neither does a restart, though that will sometimes buy me a few minutes, though getting the phone to turn completely off is complicated by the fact that I can't get to the power off slider at the top of the screen. I'm running the latest version of iOS on an iPhone SE.
Thank you

Things that might help!

Are you sure it's your touchscreen freezing? Sometimes it might be voice over. Turning it off \on will fix it.
If it is the touchscreen.... First try a reboot to fix the issue. If it persists, do a full restore on the phone.
If none of those things work, possibly a faulty display. That would have to be tested by Apple, or authorized technician. Also, if you have an iPhone 6... It might be Touch Disease. A well known issue on that model. Apple has a program to replace the screens if that's what it is. Good luck!!

does the problem happen when

does the problem happen when you have it plugged into the wall? I don't have an SE but had a 6 at one time and my screen used to go crazy whenever my phone was plugged into the wall, it wouldn't freez but it would do weird stuff like thinking i was tapping with 2 fingers and other things

thank you

sadly a reboot doesn't help. i've had it happen when it's plugged into the wall, and when it isn't, there doesn't seem to be any connection there. And I have the iPhone SE, so the only thing left to do before sending it to apple would be erase the phone, I think. right now it's in its unfrozen state because i left it for most of yesterday, and I hope it keeps that way, but if it doesn't, I'll have to give a full wipe a try. I appreciate the suggestions, please keep them coming!

Hi,
What about disabling VO and re-enabling it? does that fix the issue. Sometimes I have to do that on my iPhone X to fix this, and it works.
