Actions by Moleskine - new voiceover support

By Simon, 29 March, 2018

iOS and iPadOS

Hi.

We've been working hard on making our new task manager & lists app - Actions by Moleskine - much more accessible. We'll be doing the same with our calendar app - Timepage - as soon as possible. (Links for both apps are at the bottom of this post)

We've just released a new version of Actions that supports Voiceover, Bold Text, Button Shapes and Smart Invert Colors, but we understand that this is an ongoing process, that everyone's use of the various technologies is different, and that our support of these technologies can always be improved - just like we're always trying to improve the app in general.

As a part of that, we're eager to see what the AppleVis members think, and hear about how we can improve the app to make it more accessible. The app is free to try for a week, and then there's a subscription, but we're also looking for testers to join our Slack channel who'll receive free membership.

Please let me know here if you're interested in becoming a tester, or if you have any feedback at all.

Thanks!

Wow, I missed this in all the chaos of Easter. I've had a quick look at the app and its looking really good. I've also been interested in Timepage for a while, so I'll be interested in how that looks when it comes out. I always like to see more good productivity apps work well with VoiceOver.

I certainly would be interested in helping test either or both apps.

Great, thanks Yvonne!

I've just sent you the various invitations, and I very much look forward to hearing more of your thoughts on the apps.

Greetings

Actually, I've been looking for a task manager and collaboration tool at work. The space of these kinds of tools that are also accessible is quite limited. I'd be willing to try it with my team but, because we work for a public college we probably wouldn't be able to pay for a subscription service.

Let me know

I'm afraid I don't tbinj this app is your answer. As far as I can tell there are no collaboration features, and anyway, you definitely need a subscription, which is paid.

Your right, the accessible options for this are pretty limited, and I don't know any that are completely free. The two I've used are shared apple reminders, and Wunderlist. The other two I know of that I know of that I think are accessible are trello and asana. At least I think asana works with voiceover. All besides reminders cost something, although they all have free levels. I don't know enough about your team to know if they'd be enough.

Exciting

I am so excited to hear about the accessibility improvements to this app. I have long been on the hunt for an accessible day planner. I use things for project management, but I find it rather fussy for just dotting down quick notes and to do lists. I’m using actions and loving it so far. Would love to help you test out further improvements. Thank you so much for the effort.

Thanks Austin! I've sent you
