Seeing AI and battery drain

Hi all. I was trying to find a barcode on something, so I used seeing AI. My battery was at 45% when I started, and i'd say I was using it, five minutes. I'm not great with time estimation. I didn't find my barcode, byt that's besides the point. When I gave up, my battery was down to 21% Has anyone else had such a drastic usage with this app? This is an iPhone six S plus, running IOS 11.2 or whatever it is now.If the developers could consider a way to not drain so much bettery that would be awesome.

as you found out, this app is really working your phone to its limits.

Yes, this is the biggest issue with this app.
Maybe there is some solution to better stabilize the battery.
If not, this app will never have the full time utility.
cheers.

Hi guys,
I have found this problem too. As I said in another thread I have been having problems with the picker but now I've had some practice, I've got better at finding the programs I want.
This afternoon, I used the handwriting program for about 15 minutes. My battery started at 91 percent but after using Seeing AI for the 15 minutes it had dropped to 46 percent. Not that much but a drop of over 40 percent for the fairly short use time is quite dramatic, especially if you are using the app away from home, don't have a power source with you and want to use the app for several different functions during the day.
I'm not sure whether this is an expected level of battery use for such an AI app but perhaps the team can look to minimise such battery drain issues.

Steve.

Yes, I expect the same. I turned off the light, but that only helps a litle bit. After 5 minutes playing with the app I loose 10% of battery power.

I find that many apps that use video (such as Skype, Facetime, etc.) drain the iPhone's battery very quikcly. I wish Apple could design a more efficient video processor.

I've encountered this issue too with Seeing AI, and it's honestly rather curious. I'm wondering if anyone has been to https://www.suchasite.com ? This site was recently mentioned in "Top Tech Tidbits for Thursday," and it has information on a lot of things. Among these is information on battery life for the iPhone and possibly other Apple products although I haven't checked it out in detail yet. Having said all that, I too am wondering if the Seeing AI and other teams can come up with a way to make the battery last longer when using these image-based apps.
