Xcode, VoiceOver and build settings

App Development and Programming

Hello,

This could be the simplest question so far this year. I'm just getting started writing IOS apps w/XCode and Voiceover. I've got a project, selected the project navigator, and have searched high and low in the interface for the build settings. Can someone provide detailed steps for opening build settings?

I'm on: XCode 8.3.2, MacOS 10.12.4

Thank you - Brian.

Just support

Hi there. I unfortunately know nothing about app development, but I did want to express my support and appreciation for the question you posted. There are those who wouldn't necessarily bother asking. So, thank you.

From what I recall…

From what I recall…
From the navigator select your project ->
Editor group ->
interact with the radio button group to select the build setting tab.

Pure frustration

Thanks, semaphore. That was close enough to help me find the tab. I've been trying to find this for 2 days... Yes - 2 days. When I selected the 'build settings' tab, guess what happened? The same thing that happens when I select almost everything in xcode - nothing. Excellent. The basic model with xcode and Voiceover is - Make a selection and then search the *entire* application for anything that changed. Repeat until you have the entire application and all of its structure and options and behavior committed to memory. Sorry about the rant, but this is the most mind-numbing experience I've had in quite some time. Ironically, Apple is *known* for its intuitive user interfaces. If I din't have an employer asking me several times a day for 'any progress at all,' I'd have walked away from this platform a month ago. Anyway - Thanks again for the help, and sorry for the rant.

I understand your rant

Brian, I fully understand your frustration. I am trying to learn Swift and am trying to use the much touted Playground and have spent days trying to access the Playground results to no avail. I can enter code in the Playground 'editor but cannot find out if it worked. I have posted about this issue on Applevis, and emailed Apple's accessibility support twice and there has been no response so far. I have decided to abandon Playground and go for the REPL editor on Terminal. I use Xcode 8.3 and keep hoping the next release will make it possible.
Good luck on your app development and I am sure to rant more when I get to that stage. :)
Sorry for my rant.

Adding Search Paths to Build Settings

By Blurry_81

Hi,
So I am trying to add the Allegro library to my project for a course I'm doing in school and I can't find where to add the header search path User/Local/Include and library search path User/Local/Lib. I also need to add the Allegro Library files to the build phase section and think I did that but not 100% sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My email is blurry1681@gmail.com if you are willing to reach out directly with any help/suggestions.
Thanks
