Take advantage of the step counting capabilities in your iPhone to improve your health. Pedometer++ lets you easily keep track of your daily and weekly step counts, without any impact on your battery life. You can view your progress each day from either the iPhone app, Today View widget or Apple Watch app.
You can also set the app to dynamically show your current step count as the applications badge. This will update dynamically throughout the day.

For best results make sure that you keep your iPhone on you as you move throughout the day, ideally in a trouser pocket close to your hips.
Pedometer++ integrates with the Health app in order to collect and display data collected by your Apple Watch. It can display your step count, walking distance, active calories and heart rate data.

Most buttons are clearly labeled, and the app is easy to use. You can easily access your steps and distance by adding this app to the complications.
It is a very simple pedometer app, and all of the necessary bottoms are labeled☆

I have tried another, admittedly more complicated fitness app, which wouldn't give me current step counts unless background refresh was enabled in settings. I don't want to enable this because I don't want apps to update automatically on my iPhone.
The data will be refreshed every time the app is launched, so you don't need to enable background refresh, However, enabling this will make the app more useful.
I am a bit confused. This seems to be an Apple Watch App but then the description states:
"For best results make sure that you keep your iPhone on you as you move throughout the day, ideally in a trouser pocket close to your hips."
If I need to keep my iPhone on me, with it's own inbuilt motion tracking chip, why do I need my Watch? Does this App collect data from the Watch itself or is the watch act merely as a handy display?
I've been using this app for a few weeks on my iPhone 7. In the app description it mentions counting steps and calories burned, but if that part is accessible what do I need to do to see how many calories I burn when I walk for exercise?
Yes, you can see that burn calories in the healthcare app. First grant access to the app in the settings. After that you can go to the health care app and check out your daily steps, burnt calories, and the, distance data.
My steps are already showing in the health app, where do I go to see my calories burned? If it matters, again this is an iPhone 7.
My iPhone's language is set to Japanese, so I don't know if it would be the same with yours.
On my iPhone 7, I can show the active calories and total calories in the "Today" tab, below "Activity". I'm sorry if this doesn't solve the problem.
I can’t get the complication to read out steps. Visually it shows the number of steps, but voiceover only reads out the number zero
I think it's because the app doesn't refresh fast enough. If you double tap on the complication and open the app, then return to the watch face, that should force it to update.
I found that the app does update periodically, but doesn't update if you bring VO focus on the complication.
I too have the zero step count, even though it tells me an accurate percentage complete.
Tapping through the complication shows the step count, but returning to the watch face and looking at the complication, I still hear "zero steps."
