Resume from Sleep Lag on Mac

Hi all,
I have the Mac Pro and the air updated to the latest version of MacOS. I normally close the lid when I am not working on my Mac without shutting down the system fully. When I lift the lid I notice really bad lag and VoiceOver keeps announcing "Three system dialogues, Three system dialogues." that goes on for 30 secs or so and even if I press the CTRL key to stop it it won't stop and I have to wait until the arrow keys start to respond. A minute or less VO is back to normal. This happens all the time on both systems. I check the startup applications and I unchecked few items, I make sure there is nothing running in the background and no other windows are open to cause the announcement of that message and the lag after waking up. Anyone has experienced this and please do let me know if there's anything I can do to stop it? Thanks all for any help.
