An Introduction to Suddenly Lost, an Interactive Adventure Novel for iOS

Member of the AppleVis Editorial Team

In this podcast, Tunmi introduces us to Suddenly Lost, an interactive adventure novel for iOS with a script that is over 40,000 words alone.

The App Store description provides the following information:

You will explore many interesting places and have many adventures, all within the wonderful world of the written page.

But that's not all. We all know that adventure stories can be hazardous to your character's health. In Suddenly Lost, we not only acknowledge that fact - we celebrate it! Each time something unfortunate happens to your character, we call that an achievement.

There are over 32 achievements to get in this adventure story, and we challenge you to find them all.

Suddenly Lost uses an autosave mechanism to make sure that you can escape any time you can and pick up where you last left off. And Suddenly Lost supports multitasking features on capable tablets so that you can be productive and adventurous at the same time.

Suddenly Lost is a free download from the iTuners App Store

The name of the series was called 1000 ways to die. The only difference between the game and the series, is that in the game there are only 32 ways to die and the series doesn't have magical fantasies.

Hmmm, I think I've heard of that series before. I believe there is actually a game called 1000 Ways to Die, however i I am guessing that it is totally inaccessible.

If anybody is following this thread, I finally got around to downloading this accursed game. I'm so solidly stuck and would like to talk to somebody off list so not to spoil, if you can call it that, for others. My email and a spoiler alert are below.

Spoiler Alert below:

I've been through the underwater dome, the pirate ship, the volcano, the land of ice, the island, the pyramid, and, of course, the carnival. But I only have two tickets. Do I need tickets for all the midway attractions, and is there a one for the Flying Extravaganza? If there are other tickets besides the blue and yellow, I can't find them.

I'm ready for a hint. Or just plain cheating!

I have managed to find 28 ways of killing myself out of the 32. But can't do anything on that midway except go back.
