any accessible remote desktop clients for ios?

By Vash Rein, 23 February, 2014

Just wanted to know if anyone knew of any accessible Remote Desktop programs (RDP) for IOS to remotely control a windows computer. This could be very useful in that a user could connect to a pc or mac and then virtually run all their programs such as Microsoft office. Also, they will have access to all of their computers documents. Frankly, I believe this could only work if an ios user turns off voiceover and uses their computer's screen reader such as Jaws or system access. I haven't found any apps that allow for full windows access using screen reader, but this could be not knowing exactly how to use the program. I tried Microsoft RDP in the app store and pocket cloud RDP. Please let me know if there ia an accessible program or if I am missing something. Thanks

Re: Microsoft Remote Desktop on iOS

I downloaded this to my iPhone 6 but couldn't get anything to speak with VoiceOver after trying to connect.

Actually, it is a bit confusing even knowing what entries to put in so that one can connect. But in either case, there wasn't much feedback from VoiceOver.

Let us know if you do eventually find anything that will work. That would be very nice.

Jump Desktop app allegedly works

By Adam Samec

Hello,

according to this discussion, the app called Jump Desktop works quite well with voiceOver for remotely accessing a computer. However, audio transfer is not supported on a remote Mac, so a VoiceOver user can't use it for the Mac.

Jump Desktop has a full support for a Bluetooth keyboard connected to your iOS device what makes remote access much more comfortable. Nevertheless, since this app relies on sending audio, you may encounter latency issues depending on the quality on the network connection. But for now, this app looks like the best what you can get, others please prove me wrong.

Kind regards

Anyone else know if this app…

Anyone else know if the Jump Desktop app is still accessible? It is quite expensive, so I would like to know if it is still accessible before I purchase it.

Thanks.
