RS games on mac: resetting sound volume?

By Brian Giles, 22 November, 2016

Hi all,

I know that in the RS games client on macos you can hit F2 and F3 to tweak the music volume and that usually works for me. You're also supposed to be able to adjust the volume of sounds with F5 and F6 but I can't get that to work. I can barely hear the game sounds. Anyone know if there's a way to reset them?

I wish they could figure out a way to have the client to use VoiceOver instead of the system speech. It gets rather annoying having to adjust speech settings every time you start.

RS games on mac

Hello, I believe if I am not much mistaken F 3 and 4, as well as, F 5 and 6 adjust lobby and in game sounds. F 2 is to type a message, so it wouldn’t be that. As far as speech goes, it should save your settings without any need to reset them every time. If this is occurring and things don’t seem to be working right, go to your library folder/ application support folder, and then delete the ZPG folder associated with RS games. Once you log back in it will put everything to default as if you started all over. This may fix issues. Good luck.

They keep giving us a line, we're fixing it, no, you're not. They haven't udpated it since 2.0 Ugh Hope they do, as it was fun back then.

ZGP folder

To find the ZGP folder go to the apple menu with VO M and go to the GO menu then go down to library. Open the application support folder and go down to the ZGP folder. Delete this folder then empty the trash if you wish. Start up RS and it will automatically recreate that folder. Maybe this will fix your issues, maybe not but worth a try.

I don't have a zgp folder in my library folder. I suppose I could delete and redownload the app, but don't know if it would leave any preferences behind. I'd want to start with a fresh copy.

ZPG Folder

This is very odd. It should be there because this is the default directory where it goes. If you just delete the application this folder and preferences may very well remain unless you have an application to completely uninstall apps as this is a third party app and may not delete all files. You can try searching through spotlight to see if you can locate it.
