Sure. Make sure you are on page one of your apps. Next go in to app switcher by tapping the home button twice. Next take three fingers and flick to the left. You should hear orientation locked if it is locked. Just double tapthe the button. It will change it from locked to unlocked and just the opposite if it is unlocked. Next press the home button to back out. Hope this works for you.
I just tried this on my iPod touch with 5.1 and it was not easy to get the App Switcher to go to the Lock Rotation screen. I had to repeatedly swipe with three fingers until I broke the will of the iPod and it finally switched to that page. Anyone else have this problem?
Yes, it does doesn't it? I usually keep my phone locked in portrit mode because it's really annoying when everytime you move your phone it changes modes.

for exemple if in a answer someone say the word slide, what does it mean I guess it mean what it mean, you slide let's say from right to left but does flic or frik, I will go read your very good answer very clear, but can you tell me about those different way of saying slide or the word you have mention what is the difference if any. If u swipe up from the top of the screen with 3 fingers you'll find the control center. Note: You may need 2 do this a few times. Once you're there just swipe left or right until u get to that setting. VO. will say `orientatiintation locked or unlocked` U can toggle your setting 4 that there.

The previous poster is correct. The lock orientation button is found in the Control Center. The only thing that was forgotten is that, before you can access either the Control Center or the Notification Center is that you must do a single finger double tap and hold on any icon on the status line, which is located above the top row of icons.
This is what it looks like then, single finger double tap and hold on the status line until a three tone ascending tone is heard, then release your finger, then do a three finger swipe up from anywhere in the middle of the screen to access the Control Center or three finger swipe down to access the Notification Center.
Not sure if this works in iOS 5, which is what was asked about in the original post, but there is a slightly quicker way to get to the control center in iOS 9 than the one described in the above comment. Instead of tapping and holding to get that tone, you can instead simply put focus in the status bar (so just touch any item) and then do a three-finger swipe - up to access the control center, or down to access the notification center. I can't remember if I read it somewhere or discovered it by accident, but it's a nice little example of the ways that Apple does try to improve on its accessibility features and make them more streamlined, even when the existing features are already functional.
