Seeking feedback and suggestions for the Blindfold series of iOS games

Tennis is on my list of games. Would people want the game to use arm movements like the Wii, or use your finger on the screen?

Also, are there any other games or suggestions that you have for the Blindfold series of iOS games?

I think that every user of the Blindfold Games should let the blindness agencies that they communicate with on a frequent basis know about the value that these games provide to the blind community. I think we should particularly make the blindness agencies in countries where English is a primary language know about these games, so that they can disseminate the information among their members and spread the word out.

Earlier in this discussion, some people asked the developer whether he would consider making these games available on other platforms. I would appreciate it if these games were available on Windows. I would guess that the number of people who are blind and use Windows is similar to the number of blind people who use iOS. Less people use Linux, the Mac and Android devices, and I think the developer should concentrate on what the majority of English-speaking blind people use.

I'm sure there are a lot of windows users, but the problem with windows is that it doesn't have the flexibility and portability of a phone, so you can't play the games anywhere. The phones respond the screen gestures, movement and lots of other stuff. And it would take thousands of hours to reprogram these games on windows.

And, if price is an objection, keep in mind that I just bought a used iphone 4 on ebay for $35 to be able to test the games ios 7.1 for some people who had very old iphones and ipods and found problems in one or two of the games. I won't hook it up to cellular service; I am only using it on wifi.

Hello. I don't think this would happen, because of the copyright issue, but a Blindfold Super Mario or Blindfold Donkey Kong or Blind Fold PacMan would be great. Growing up with gaming con`soles, I grew to love these games and wished they were completely accessible.

I would love it if we could have a game that is similar to FarmVille or roller coaster tycoon. Any thoughts on this?

Hi. I have several game suggestions for the blindfold series.
First, and apples to apples card game. When you are the judge, each person's cards could be read in a different voice. The red and green car it's could be read in a different voice too, but they don't need to be since the red and greens are very different.
It would also be cool to have a game where you could draw or paint. You could pick a color, then you tap on the paper. Then, you could move your finger around the screen to draw something. Each picture that you wanted to draw could cost you one coin.
It would also be fun to have a Sims Skylers game where you build a city and put people in it and took care of pets and kids and played games and builds a whole world. It could cost you a coin to build or make something.
Another fun game would be if you could have lots of different instruments, like drums and bells and horns and flutes and things, and you could make songs out of the track loops.
The final game suggestion I have is a farm simulation game, taking care of animals, growing crops, just a traditional farm game would be great.
Also, is there anyway you could link coins between games? Four example, you have a certain amount of points in your blindfold bank, and you can use them to play any game you want?
Thank you so much for everything that you are doing to make these apps accessible to us.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure I understand your idea for a drawing game. Please email me directly at [email protected]. The SIMS game is very complex - its not something I will attempt soon.
Ken Downey had an idea for a music game that incorporates what you mention. He & I will talk about that.

Hello. For Blindfold Racer, when you make wind, could we just shake the phone instead of blowing into theic? Because that doesn't seem to always work for some people. Also, there are two games that would be cool to play: Family Business and Betrayal at House on a Hill. Betrayal at House on a Hill is a horror-based board game where you move your character and explore a house, and at a certain point, a Haunt starts. A haunt is where one of the players turns traitor and the others are heroes. Family Business is a game where you play as a mob and have to kill all the other mobs to win.

I would love any sort of business managemen games or sims of any kind especially a plane sim or city sim in the near future

SIM games are extremely complex. I am talking with another developer; we may collaborate on something, but its still under discussion.

By TJT 2001 on Sunday, January 3, 2016 - 08:03

The problem with simulation games is that people have very different interests, and it would take a lot of time to build a simulation game for every different interest.

Are there any plans to translate blindfold penelty shootout?

That game sounds interesting, unfortunately I don't speak german so can't try it.

Is it just you taking turns taking penelty shots at a goal?

I love all of the games that you have created so far. I would really like to see more word games like a scrabble typed game, or words with friends game. I would also love to see a trivia game if possible and more card games like scopa.

By Ornella on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I would like the board game of life. the object of the game is to retire with the most money. you have to spin the wheel and which ever number you land on you will be asked if you want to go to school or get married or buy things etc.

It would be nice if games such as blindfold horserace and blindfold bowling could have an online multi player mode.

By That Blind Canuck on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

These two games are played a lot with my colleagues at work and have enjoyed playing them. Would be nice to be able to play them on my free time.

By That Blind Canuck on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

The two games I was referring to are in the post title, they are a Euchre and Cribbage card games.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I'm still waiting for people to try to latest crazy 8 with friends. I am beta testing a new version; once that is perfect, I can move the multi-player to other games as well. And I'll be adding more card games soon.

By That Blind Canuck on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

My apologies as well, perhaps I should have put them in the comments as well. Like the old saying goes, "No harm, no foul!".

By MonkeyGamingFSB on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I have been in contact with the developer of Blindfold games for a few months. I have suggested future gaming ideas such as golf, Backgammon, checkers, Pac Man and battle or trading games based on Pokémon and Hearthstone.

By MonkeyGamingFSB on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I am also aware that the developer of the Blindfold series has ideas for Billiards and Pull as well as Baseball and Football. I think all of these ideas sound absolutely fantastic! Am also looking forward to Blindfold Tennis, Blindfold Pinball and Blindfold Boggling.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

Would be cool to have a blindfold flight simulator. It wouldn't happen to have any graphic, but it would probably require headphones to play.

By Paige on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I would really like a blindfold piano tiles game

By David Standen on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

Blindfold Pinball, Blindfold Darts and Blindfold Packman would be awesome. I personally do not like simulation games.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I just played that game online. I'm not sure how to turn that into an audio game. It shows 1 black tile and several white tiles, in random positions in a row, , with each row moving from top to bottom, and you have to click on the black tile and it plays the piano note. If you click on the white tile, you lose.

Got any ideas?

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

Is coming soon.

By TJT 2001 on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I had an idea on how this could be made accessible. Perhaps you could make an audio equivalent where the device is held in landscape. Through a stereo field, the player hears a note that is somewhere in the auditory field. The player then taps the screen in the approximate left-to-right location of where the note was. I know that the real version is more complicated with both rows and columns. Perhaps with different musical instruments such as guitars and bells, you could make rows as well.

By Ornella on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

i like business type games. it could be text based or no graphics i don't mind.

By Paige on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I like simulation games as well, and I love the idea of the different musical instruments. Maybe you could have it play a note on the musical instrument, and you had to find the right musical instruments by swiping up and down the road, then find the right notes by slicing to the correct column

By TJT 2001 on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

In my opinion, flicking around the screen to find the instrument defeats the purpose of the game.

What kind of business game simulators?

By Paige on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

You could have for instrument Sounds. For one, you could tap with one finger. Another with two fingers, three fingers, and four fingers. It would be cool to have a restaurant simulator

By TJT 2001 on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

Personally, I don't really mind what type of simulation game there is, because this is a game genre I enjoy. I wish there were more titles in that genre.

Slightly off-topic, but has anyone tried the very new farm simulation game in LEASEY? Is that game any good?

By Ornella on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

restaurants or cafes or even park simulaters would be nice.

By kithri on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

Yes, I ewould like to also see leader boards and such to see where players rank and some sort of bonus for completing levels. The space invader/packman ideas are great and Draconus Entertainment is actually still around, but they are reprogramming all games to run cross platforms. The sighted people are all playing candy crush and similar and not really sure how we could make that as a matching thing unless you use different notes or tones to simulate each object, kind of like a concentration type game. I don't know if this would work, but what about something for the younger kids to play like candy land or shoots and laders or go fish in card games. Just keep up the great work!

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

I have a copy of park boss and looking at converting it to the iphone.

By Siobhan on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

How about a concentration game? You can have cards you flip over, try to match? I am not a fan of sim games, personally I don't like ones such as lost city, never played park boss and it's not available on Mac to my knowledge. Great work Marty :)

By Igna Triay on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

What about blindfold chess? I mean, it would be a great idea for another blindfold game.

One of the games from Kid Friendly Software for the younger kids, in case you weren't aware of it, is War. HTH.

In case you weren't aware, there are already a couple of chess programs that will work with Voice-Over. Shredder Chess is very good, and can challenge you from an ELO rating of 850, an extreme novice player, up to 2,600, which is Grandmaster level. The only option that won't work with Voice-Over is the ability to set board positions. Although not as strong, and with only 3 skill levels, chess-wise pro does allow you to set board positions., Chess-Wise

Would really like to see a concentration game.

By Andy B. on Thursday, March 3, 2016 - 08:03

Lemonade stand and the Oragon trail would be nice.

I can't wait for the sports games because they seem to be lacking in the app department. Have you ever considered making a Blindfold Olympics or something in honor of the olympics?
