Sound Effects On Mac

Hi guys I have a odd thing going on with my Mac Air. all of a sudden the sounds have gone, when navigating through anything there is no sound effects or anything I'm not sure if I did anything but I can't for the life of me work out how to get them back please help.

Restart VoiceOver

I find that this happens sometimes in recent OS X versions. IF I restart VO, all returns to normal.

Hi there thanks for the reply this didn't work it's been like this a few days now even after restarting my mac there is still no effect

Be sure they aren't muted

Are you sure they aren't set to be muted? In VoiceOver Utility, select Sounds from the categories table, then check that the "mute sound effects" box is not checked.

Hi there i just looked and as you said it was on mute the strange thing is I never go into VoiceOVer Utility I don't really need to so I'm kind of wondering if there is some hidden key stroke that does this either way it's annoying. Thanks for the help
