By techluver, 8 November, 2015 Forum Hardware and Accessories Hello, i was wondering if someone could recommend me a blind friendly fitbit? prefferably: 1. no screen 2. app is accessible thanks! Options Log in or register to post comments Comments Hi, Hi, I have the fitbit chargeHR. Yes, it has a small display, but once you get it connected to the app, it's easy to work with. One note on connecting the charge HR, you'll need sighted assistance for the pairing step as it shows numbers on the display that you have to enter into the app from the charge HR. that's the only downside to the device. thanks! Does it monitor sleep? do i have to do anything with the display? Have the charge HR as well For sleep it does it automatically no buttons or anything needed You don't need to do anything at all with the screen. Just start the workout mode you press the single button on the outer side hold it and it will vibrate to tell you that it has started detailed exercise tracking So so happy I got it you won't be disappointed when i tried the app hi when i loked at the fitbit app it seemed totally inacessible in ios nine. just unlabelled buttons and it is unclear how to enter basic data, even without a fitbit connected, do others find the app usable? I do. Some parts of the app I do. Some parts of the app like the sleep graphs are not readable, but everything else seems on my end to be. I don't know if the battery readout was fixed recently, but with the charge HR and fitbit app connected, it wouldn't read that info out. Apple watch? I understand how the less expensive Fitbits could be a good option for some, but unless I am mistaken, inset's the Fitbit charge around the same price as the Apple watch? If this is the case you might want to think about that as another option. I love my Apple watch, and the activity stuff is totally accessible; plus there is a sleep tracking app now called sleep plus plus. Hi again It's just as Justin says. The app is accessible except for the graphs and the battery status is not inaccessible it just is not included in the app, kind of annoying but not really a big deal after you've used the fit bit and get used to its schedule. I get so much out of my charge HR. I would count myself as a pretty big Apple fan but I would not exchange my fit bit for an Apple Watch I have heard comparisons between the fit bit on the Apple Watch and I do feel like the fit bit is A better choice if you're looking for fitness tracking If anyone's curious I'm in Canada and my fit bit cost a few dollars over 200 My comments on Fitbit The app is mostly accessible except for the visuals. Fitbit does send you a weekly progress report via emai& I only use the asp for the silent alarm. Graat app! Possibly Going From Flex to Charge HR but have a question Hi. I’ve owned a fitbit flex since last June and was, up until a couple of weeks ago very pleased with it. However, I started to see some glaring inaccuracies with both my step count and the distance I had travelled so I contacted support who did some trouble shooting with me and determined that my flex was faulty. They sent me a new one which I received on Monday but unfortunately this 1 is doing exactly the same thing. So, after contacting support again today the exact same problem was shown and yet another flex is being sent out to me. I started doing a bit of digging around on here to see which trackers other people were using in case the same problem occurs with this tracker. I was very surprised to learn that people are using the Fitbit Charge HR but equally I was glad because if this problem does occur again, it does mean that I can still use the Fitbit range of products as I really enjoy the social aspect of it and challenging friends etc. It also has GPS so this should dramatically improve both my distance and step count data. If I do have the same problem again I’m thinking about asking for a charge HR and offering to pay the difference in price between the two. However, I do have a question. I’ve read posts on here that say all you have to do is press a button on the side of the charge to monitor exercise and then press it again when you are done. Is this purely for non-step-based activities such as weight-lifting, cardio workouts or yoga etc? If so, do I need to log which exercise I’m doing as I know that you do have to do this with the flex because it only monitors step-based activities. Thanks in advance. charge hr hi there. exorcise tracking on the charge hr is automatic for some things, IE walking, running, and I think outside cycling, but if you want to be active in telling it that you're starting / stopping said activity, you can hold down the button for about 2 seconds, to start exorcise mode, and hold it down for 2 seconds to end said mode. the difference is, is that if it automatically detects that you're walking and logs it as a walk, it will already be set as a walk, to show distance, steps, and other things like that. if you record a walk by putting it into exorcise mode before you start, it will just log that as a workout. then, you go to the log, and categorize that workout as a walk, and it will then have all the step and distance data show up. so it can work either way for walks / runs. Oh, and btw, you can set how long of a walk / run will tell it that you're doing an exorcise. so i have mine set to 10 mins, the lowest. so that means, that if it detects you walking for 10 mins or more, it will then automatically log that as a walk for you. you can set that to between 10 mins, and 90 mins. i set mine to the lowest, so that any walk over 10 mins will auto log. if i walk for shorter then 10 mins, and i know i'm going to, i can manually log that. and yeah, you can use the same system for recording other activities that it can't auto track. then categorize them after, so it has an idea of what you were doing, I'm guessing so it can calculate calorie burn and other things. I just got my fitbit charge hr for the first time yesterday, this is my first ever fitbit. I got it for free through some frequent flyer points, so I'm happy. lol. so far, I'm having fun with it. it even automatically tracks your sleeping time and things like that. It's rather awesome to be able to monitor your heart rate almost real time. lol. also, it's handy to have the heart rate, cause when you do an exercise, you can look in the log of that exercise, and it will tell you how long you hit fat burning levels for, and so on. quite handy. anyways, good luck. Flex 2 Hi there! I've just been looking in to fit bit, and I was thinking about getting the flex 2, For the simple reason, that I want to take up Aqua aerobics. I like the fact that you can use it in the shower or in swimming. I was wondering, has anyone on here used it, or had experience with it. I'm wondering how accessible it is, and whether I would be able to use it. Also, how accurate it is. Any help would be appreciated on this. Thanks.
