Updating Iphone 4s to iOS 8.3

By Babs, 1 May, 2015

iOS and iPadOS

Hello
I am using the Iphone4s and haven't yet updated it.
If I update my phone to 8.3, does anyone know if it will effect any of my downloaded apps I have on the phone, or anything else for that matter?
I especially don't want to remove Fleksy or WhatsApp, and then have to reinstall them again, if I can avoid it.
I would be very grateful for any feedback. Thanks in advance.

hi update is not effect on iPhone. I suggest you to backup your iPhone in icloud or iTunes. I am think that iPhone will be slogish because ios8 is newer system from aple and iPhone hee old device,i don't know what regarding ios8.3 because that i have no tryed ios with device this. In general your data has no delete from your device but it's emportent that make a backup device anyway before you updating your iPhone.

Regarding your apps, there will be no problem. Your phone will be a bit slugish if you update from ios 7, but more fluent if you update from 8.1. Always try to update from itunes instead of OTA.

Hello,

First you need to figure out why you want to update your IOS. Are you having issues? Is there an app you want/need that will not work on your current IOS? Sometimes the latest IOS isn’t always good for an older device.

I’ve heard/read plenty of people not being happy with the results after updating their device. Sluggish performance is the main complaint. While most updates go smoothly, some don’t. So be aware that one or so apps may need to be reinstalled. Just be sure to back up your entire device like everyone suggested.

HTH and good luck.

Thank you

Hi
Thanks very much for all your speedy replies which I apreciate.
David, after reading your reply, you did give me something to think about.
I am not having any issues at all with anything on the phone so I think I will resist the temptation to update. You have heard the old saying haven't you, why try to mend something that isn't broken haha.
Thank you so much for helping me to make my mind up!

I agree with all of this comment. You shouldn't update your iPhone 4S. Because it will make your iPhone's performance slower..
