Accessibility Comments

As with many apps living in the menu bar, pressing just vo-space will not bring it to the foreground (you will need to root the mouse to it and click. The interface is very simple, displaying only a menu button giving you access to turning the app off, configuring startup options and shortcuts to get the mobile app, as well as a table of all of the recognition matches. Interacting with any of the rows in this table will give you an unlabelled button that will take you to the iTunes page of the album the song comes from, while simulating a mouse click on the row will open safari to shazam's page displaying the song, which is where you can access things like sharing your tag.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver, but the interface could be easier to navigate and use.

Other Comments

If you don't mind that the app is always listening (I'm not sure if the audio gets stored anywhere or constantly being sent out somewhere), this is incredibly useful if you hear a song in a youtube video or are listening to a radio station that doesn't provide good metadata. With my setup where I have a mixer hooked up too the mac most of the time, I can just hit a switch to root the system audio to it and a few seconds later I get a notification when shazam found a match.

Has anyone noticed that after a while, a dialogue box appears saying that Shazam has timed out and is asking to either restart the app or exit?
