Normalizing MP3S with Mac

By Joey G, 10 June, 2014

So, I have a bunch of mp3 files I am copying to an SD card. I'm wondering if there is a way to normalize them, other than using iTunes. I don't want to port them into my library, just to run a sound check on them, because they simply don't belong there. So, is there a stand-alone app that I can use for normalization? Thanks

Thanks Marrie. Unfortunately, I can't find it on that site. Googling now, but so far I can only find the windows version.

The reason I recommended mp3gain is so that mp3s are not reemcoded after the process. This avoids artifacting.

mp3gain for mack

I just saw this posting and decided to comment. i went looking on the link that's provided. Is this program no longer available for Mack? I have some mp3 files that could use a bit of a nice soft touch. Some need a volume increase, while other's need a bit of a decrease. I don't have Sound Forge here or else I would use that on this Mack. I actually wish I could transfer my license of Sound Forge on the PC to the Mack because I have a key for a licensed copy but, of course, it's for Windows.

I just googled and found this. It was updated 2 years ago but should still work.
