Making the Siri window go away.

Hi all.

So I've opted into the new Siri AI beta wonderland. I asked it to describe something on a website, which honestly, it did pretty well. But then what I had was the text of that on the screen with "open in app". How do I get rid of that and back to Firefox? I ended up swiping up to go home, but hopefully there's an easier way that just gets me back to whatever I was doing.

I was wondering about this too.
Previously, the Siri window will automatically disappear after a short duration, but with the new Siri AI enabled, it seems that the Siri window never disappears, which is kind of annoying.

The single finger swipe up from the bottom of the screen is supposed to work to disable the Siri output pop-up.

When I do that however, I often get not only the Siri pop-up to disappear, but the app often disappears also and I am brought to the home screen.

The other disadvantage of having to swipe up from the bottom of the screen is that, when running on my treadmill with the phone in its holder, I can't reach the bottom of the screen because it is covered by the holder!

Sometimes you can say "goodbye" to Siri after hearing the response and that will disappear the window.

I would like to see a setting to set a time before the Siri pup-up will disappear or set the time to 0 to have it disappear automatically. After all, Siri will speak the response. I don't have to see the response text on the screen! I can always open the Siri app if I do want to see the response and/or interact with it.

I dislike the fact that the Siri pop-up covers up part of my open app.

Anyway, those are some ideas to close the pop-up and several suggestions for Apple.

In there, there's a button that says"show app behind Siri", or the like. I turned that off, and now I don't seem to get a window at all, as soon as it's done speaking I can move around the screen and I'm still just in FIrefox. I tested it twice but that's not extensive or anything, so I could be wrong. Worth giving it a shot though.

Hi All,
I have found that, whenSIRI has VO focus, a single click of the power button will close it and return you to normal use.
As I typically invoke SIRI with the power button, this works well.
A typical workflow for me might be:
Hold the Power Button to invoke SIRI. VO announce SIRI and the phone vibrates.
I ask my questions of SIRI.
Once the conversation is complete, I click the power button once, the phone vibrates to confirm SIRI has closed and VO announces the App in focus.
Hope this helps...

I did find the setting:
"show app behind Siri"
It was turned off and I toggled it "on". Siri still covers up part of the open app.

I also found some other settings.

In the Accessibility / Siri settings I found the setting:
"Always Show Request"
which I toggled to "off".

Also, under the Settings / Siri dialog, I see the setting:
"Show Preview"
and also have that toggled to "off".

Still when I say "Hey Siri" and get a response, the Siri dialog covers the top left of the app that is open.

As someone pointed out though, one can hit the power button to close that Siri dialog.

I don't know why those other settings don't seem to do what they imply.

It helps if you tell Siri goodbye. It will close whatever screen pops up. Sad you will not hear anything not even a sound that she did so.

This is happening in a similar way with the non-Apple Intelligence devices also I have the show request turned on on both my devices 15 and 2022 SE so it’s kind of a similar issue even though there’s no app involved we don’t get a specific Siri app for the Non AI iPhone But we do run into voiceover, trying to read things for Siri if they request are on we actually have like an opposite thing going on I think for these bones For example, if you ask Siri just search YouTube for something, the screen disappears so fast that you can’t even tell what link you’re trying to read before you tap on it there’s actually started happening in iOS 26. It’s very annoying. i’m not exactly sure if I’m talking about the same issue and I’m sorry if I’m not, but there’s definitely been issues quite a while interacting with voiceover. and together. Did not have any of these issues before iOS 26. I hope it helps you anyway I’m gonna see if I can report this to Apple. i’m gonna look at maybe one of those known issues but they’re better off at least knowing people are experiencing it.
