When I'm on a call I'm unable to get back to the homescreen from any other window. I can access aps from the app switcher or notification center but doing the standard homescreen jesture has no impact.
I'm able to do it while on a call. when I put the phone on speaker, I swipe up from the bottom, and it takes me to the home screen with no issues. iPhone 16 pro
What device in iOS version are you using? It’s the same for me as the previous comment, sir. If you put the phone on speaker and then you swipe up from the bottom right corner of the screen to the standard gesture, you should be able to get to the home screen while on a call. What steps have you taken so far that may be prevented you from going on home screen? Was there anything else running in the background or you’re on the phone call that would’ve made you not get to the home screen? We might need a little more info to help you better.

I am experiencing the same problem. I'm running iOS 27.2 Beta 1. I will say it's inconsistent for me when this happens, and I also can't lock my screen in addition to not being able to use the home gesture. Usually restarting my phone fixes the problem temporarily.
I asked Siri to place a call and my phone was on speakerphone. The screen wouldn't lock and I couldn't get to my home screen. My phone is a 16 pro, and this is the first time it's ever happened. It worked perfectly when I was beta testing.

Did you start the call using Siri?
I saw this happen a lot throughout the 27 beta cycle, and it always consistently happened if I initiated the call using Siri.
