never solved one!
The "how to play" section is not clear at all.
Tried to solve one, but despite placing all characters in the boxes indicated by the clues, some cells have "in conflict" on them, some others "ruled out", I really don't understand how to play properly!
MOre rotor options?
I actually did manage to solve one, but I'm very confused by what makes a space ruled out. It would also be incredible if there was a way to rotor to points of interest, similar to the way Blackbox has made it possible to jump between challenges in various ways. It was very confusing, (and slightly infuriating,) hunting for which square of carpet was by a table in today's challenge, and as far as I know, actually spoting the object in question is not meant to be part of the puzzle. But all in all, I'm very intrigued by this and will absolutely play with it more! Well done to the dev on the great work!
ruled out
Ruled out is a label for squares that are in the same row or column as an already placed character, meaning that no character can be placed on that square in the current configuration. By default squares are automatically ruled out when you place characters, but you can turn this off in settings.
points of interest
I haven't played blackbox too much so I'm not entirely sure what this would mean/how it would work, but anything that would make the object hunting a bit smoother sounds good to me! I'm starting to play around with the tougher puzzles and keeping track of where all the objects are is a bit difficult.
Edit: Ok I thought about it more and I think I know what you mean. The points of interest rotor would just allow you to swipe up and down through objects on the board, skipping over empty cells, right?
This exactly
Yes! It would just be a quick way to figure out where some of those points of interest were without having to find them by flicking through each square. Right now I'm using the item chooser, which works alright. Unrelated, but does anyone else have their phone freeze when playing today's puzzle? This did not happen with yesterday's.
