i’m interested to hear why people choose one of those browsers over the other. I have used chrome for several years, not for any particular reason, except that I didn’t think I liked Microsoft browsers. Well, I just discovered that edge does a better job with some things. For months, I have had terrible trouble navigating through webpages on chrome. After typing something in a search field, I could not hit enter to make it search. And, it would not go back by using alt and the left arrow key. Today, it dawned on me that maybe I would try edge. LO, and behold, everything works as it is supposed to. I’m going to keep using edge to see if this is true over a long time. I hope so, because it is very frustrating when key strokes don’t work.

I use Edge on Windows for basically the same reason I use Safari
I use Edge on Windows for basically the same reason I use Safari on macOS; it's included with the operating system and does what I need it to do.
Edge uses chromium
Basically the actual browser engin. The differences are just ui skins and where the telemetry data is sent, microsoft or google. I stick to chrome. It works the same reliably everywhere. And I really mean everywhere :)

For all intents and purposes, Microsoft Edge, is, Google Chrome.
On that note, you guys can keep your chromium browsers, I'll stick to Firefox for as long as I am able. 🤔

On my Mac I have a few browsers installed. Safari is maybe my primary personal browser, and Chrome is my main work browser. I've not used Edge extensively, but the one feature it has which keeps it installed is the option to speak content using the lovely Microsoft neural voices. If I have a large document to read, I will usually open it in Edge and set it going. But as has been said above, there's not really any difference in how Chrome and Edge render pages.
On Windows I prefer Firefox mainly because it has a sensible application menu.
