If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.

If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.

In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.

All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

That new Siri got me excited, I probably won't be able to run the new voice model but we'll have to wait. No new airpods though, unfortunate.

By Ayub on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 19:08

Congratulations!!! We made it! iOS 27 has been released! Please post your findings here in this post.

By 1drew on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 19:35

The first developer beta install went smooth on my iPhone 17 pro max using Voiceover. The feature to describe photos is really cool. The new Siri has a waitlist, so we will see how long that takes.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 19:39

Are you allow to mention if the issue with VO and notification is fix? I know is the first beta. Long live cats.

By user26335377 on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 19:59

This new feature to describe any image or even the screen looks really impressive, but what's the reason to restrict it's availability to only the regions, that supports Apple Intelligence? I don't want to fully change my system language to English, but would be completely happy with image descriptions given in English. Although Apple always know better what we really need.
But if we ignore the regional restrictions, it's really amazing! Now iOS getting the most cool of TalkBack's features, almost the only one, that could force me think about switching back to Android. VoiceOver allows to select any image in any apps and describe it in a few seconds, and even if some app has poor design and image doesn't behave like image from the VoiceOver's perspective, we still able to describe the overall screen.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:03

Rules and regulationChina and EU have rules and they would like control over what is going on. This is why they also mention securities issues. Long live cats.

By danno5 on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:11

I have it installed here on the 17 pro max, how do I get the description thing to work? Cheers

By Seamus on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:11

I wonder if we will have any new VoiceOver features or voices. I also hope they fix any VoiceOver bugs on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, and macOS.

Because my battery health is significantly degraded, I am probably not going to install Developer Beta 1 on my phone this year. I will likely wait to update until the beta is a little more stable, probably around Public Beta 2.

Thank you.

By Christopher Hallsworth on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:15

Have the above on my iPad, 10th generation. So far so good. VoiceOver is overall more responsive; even Eloquence is more responsive, similar to that experienced on my M2 Macbook Air. No new voices I am aware of, and there are a few nice touches. Check out the new text exploration setting for example. But yes, early days but so far so good.

By user26335377 on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:19

Look at the VoiceOver settings, in particular the section about recognition. When all required toggles are on, there're should be two new actions for any image: ask and describe. Also in Dynamic Island there're a similar actions, but for the overall screen. If there're no such actions, check that You've enabled Apple Intelligence in the Siri settings.

By Jokyboy129 on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:48

The voiceover voice is realy quiet on my iPhone 15 Pro now, and the Voiceover sounds are now playing at ringtone volume. Any fix please?

By Karok on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:50

did apple say the new siri AI thing would be out later this year? guess it will come with the public betas.
hoping braille screen input is fixed as it keeps freezing.

By Dennis Long on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 20:59

You have to opt into the beta.

By BlindFolk on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 21:07

It appears the braille Screen input uncontracted US unified braille is broken. I'm not sure if this has to do with the fact that autocorrection is enabled.

By Kyler G on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 21:20

For some reason the "Ask" and "Describe" actions are popping up for me, but no new Siri. I'm really ticked off that the only thing new with this update is Connectivity Assist and some language expansion updates. We'll have to see what happens in beta 2. At this point I may just trade in for an iPhone 17e. This is ridiculous!

By BlindFolk on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 21:30

Even though I have 24 hour time switched on, I'm now getting the PM and AM, or 12 hour time.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 21:37

Someone be kind and let me know if is fix?If is not, please report it, Hope it is, I know is the first beta. Long live cats.

By Stevie Zylstra on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 22:09

On iPhone 16e when I start dictation if I try to stop it with magic tap it does not stop it also does not stop when I hit the button to make it stop when I finally get it to stop by exiting the text field it refuses to restart.
Please let me know if anyone’s having the same issue or any issues with dictation
Also with voiceover all the sounds seem to be playing at the same volume as ringer volume, and the voice sounds very like it has a lot of mid range sound to it and not a lot of low at all. Its volume also seems to be very indecisive of where it wants to be it randomly adjusts.
Thanks

By Mert Ozer on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 22:33

First off, voiceover seems to reset the VO sound/haptic settings, causing the sounds to be way louder than the VO speech, this is a bug. You need to go to VoiceOver settings and adjust the VoiceOver sounds again. You can uncheck "Match Speech Volume" under the VoiceOver Sounds & Haptics section and then manually adjust the sound volume. I personally have mine set to 10%. That’ll fix it.

I don't know if some of the features I'm going to talk about below were already present in iOS 26, as I never tried the version 26, so some of these may have actually been introduced previously, but here you have it:

- There's a text exploration toggle that you can set to paragraph, sentence, etc. I'm not really sure what it changes, as I haven't read anything long with VoiceOver yet.
- There's a one-handed Braille mode. I'll have to try that one.
- For cursor visibility under VO quick settings, you have three options: show the VoiceOver cursor at all times, hide it when taking a screenshot or recording, or not show it at all.
- There's a hints delay setting where you can specify how long VoiceOver waits before speaking hints such as "double tap to activate."
- You can now add custom hints for items, but I wasn't really interested in that, so I don't know much about it.

And of course, you now have the image description features. VoiceOver always gives a short description of an image, but now, using the Actions rotor, you can have the image described in detail with AI, ask questions about the image, or just have it described without VoiceOver opening another screen, so it doesn't take you away from the current window. You can also use the Actions rotor on the Dynamic Island to ask about whatever you have on screen or have the screen described.
In my experience, the descriptions only take a second, much faster than any other AI or Be My AI. Be My AI really started this trend, which I'm forever grateful for, but it seems like I'll be using it way less now that we have VoiceOver image descriptions. You probably guessed this already, but these descriptions aren't available without an internet connection. Apparently, you also need at least an iPhone 15 Pro, and your region and language have to be set to the U.S. and English.
Thank me later, and enjoy the features if you can. It works great, as I'm now able to scan through Instagram stories without much delay.

ed it on my iPad 9, don’t think i have the image description stuff

By Seamus on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 22:55

Those features that you mentioned seem like they are in iOS 27. While I don't have that beta installed on my phone, it is nice to see those features are now part of VoiceOver.

I'm not very sure what the text exploration option would be. Maybe it's a setting so you can explore more granularly. I hope they fix all the bugs though — that's what I really need. At least there are not that many bugs on the iPhone, but there will definitely be some bugs on my phone.

I have heard about bugs on the Mac, so hopefully they fix those. But since I don't have a Mac that I can use, I will not be beta testing on the Mac.

By Bryanah on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 23:05

Here are some small bugs and one feature I noticed.
The Emoji Suffix option in VoiceOver's verbosity settings is not working.
If you use Eloquence, the community dictionary no longer works.
You can now import and export a list of your pronunciations from either VoiceOver or Read and Speak Settings.

By Holger Fiallo on Monday, June 8, 2026 - 23:56

If you got SiriAI and having issues, consider doing a restart. That might help, long live cats.

By Singer Girl on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 00:08

Which iPhones are getting the iOS 27 update? I tried to look this up and I couldn’t find just like a straight up list so I was asking. I have an iPhone 15 as my primary iPhone and an iPhone SE 2022. I hope they’re both being supported. I just got my iPhone 15 last year so I really can’t just go get a new phone.

By Christopher Hallsworth on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 00:16

Any iPhone that can run 26 will also run 27.

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 00:20

For those of you that got access to Siri AI how long did it take? I installed the beta at about 230 and immediately joined the waitlist and haven’t heard anything.

By Dennis Long on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 01:08

if you go to settings and sound you will solve your problem. Part of a new OS is to explore what is there.

By Ayub on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 01:36

I'm installing the update right now.

By Jokyboy129 on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 01:42

If this was referring to my post then no, I don't get it. My voiceover voice is very quiet and does not have any bass and the sounds are as loud as the ringtones. On headphones this works.

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 01:44

I’m having this exact same issue as you. Make sure to report it to Apple so they get more reports of this issue.

By Gar on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 02:30

Hello,
Further to the original comment above by another user, magic tap does not seem to function at all, at the moment. I have attempted to use it on multiple screens and it does absolutely nothing now. Can anyone else confirm?

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 02:31

Yes, I am having the same issue when playing audio I can’t do the magic tap to pause. Dictation magic tap works though.

By Seamus on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 02:34

In the Command section, there should be a toggle switch to enable or disable media playback in VoiceOver. Try turning this on or off to see if it works. I cannot confirm this myself, as I am not installing Developer Beta 1 on my phone.

By peter on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 03:35

Using an iPhone 15 Pro here with the iOS 27 beta.

Magic Tap is working fine for me when playing podcast. I can stop and start the audio with the two finger double tap.

Similarly, I can pause and start the audio with a single press of my Airpods Pro 2. No problems.

Every once in a while, Voiceover suddenly goes silent for me. I am using the Eloquence voice on an iPhone 15 Pro.

I've seen this happen several times when swiping quickly.

I also just locked my phone now when Voiceover was at a good volume. When I tried to wake it up again, Voiceover was silent.

I don't know what is causing this. It seems random.

Fortunately, saying "hey Siri, set Voiceover volume to 45%" puts the audio level of Voiceover back to something I can hear. so this isn't a show stopper, just a bit annoying.

Can anyone reproduce reliably?

--Pete

By Dennis Long on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 03:40

I tried in a radio app and have been using it in other places all night with no issue. Absolutely file a feedback if you haven't already.

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 04:20

Yes, I can confirm that I am having the same issue. It does seem to be whenever I’m moving fast or whenever I lock my phone with voiceover on and then try to wake it back up. It goes silent.
I have just sent it into Apple Feedback. I suggest you do so as well to raise this to Apple.

By Ayub on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 04:34

Hello. I know this is a different topic but I am having an issue with Image Descriptions. On the AppleVis logo on this website, I swipe up one time and VoiceOver says Image Description with AI. I double tap on it, and I get the Siri sound, but then after, Siri doesn't speak. Can anyone confirm this issue?

By Stevie Zylstra on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 04:37

I am on an iPhone 16e. I’m not having this issue you are describing. It is describing the image very well.
Did you try refreshing the page?
Or turning on and off voiceover?

By Christopher Hallsworth on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 04:44

I have not been able to reproduce this on neither my iPhone SE 2022 nor iPad, 10th generation. If and when I do, I will sure let Apple know.

By BlindFolk on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 07:21

I am happy to report that, after turning auto correction off in the keyboard settings, braille Screen input is back to normal, using unified uncontracted braille.

By Urh Å trakl on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 08:09

I am definitely experiencing most of the same issues as you guys, my voiceover lacks a bit of low end. I don’t know if I could describe this any better. It’s just as if the sound profile of the speech has completely transformed now in iOS 27 I believe music and other things sound fine but I can’t be sure completely. Also, I get a strange crackling sound sometimes for example when I’m swiping left and right on my lock screen and then if I lock my phone and something is playing, the phone will make like a crackling sound after two seconds I think this could be reproduced tried so then we can all report it to Apple.

By Gar on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 08:21

To my previous post, I tried restarting voiceover and that did not fix the issue. Restarting the phone however did do so. Now, magic tap seems to work as normal.

By Haruna on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 10:30

I am using iPhone 16 and have encountered the following issues:

  • VoiceOver reads the time in a 12-hour format even though the system is set to 24-hour time.
  • VoiceOver audio is extremely quiet and the bass frequencies are cut off, making it very difficult to hear.
  • VoiceOver does not read the connected Wi-Fi SSID when tapping on the status bar.
  • VoiceOver reads an incorrect value for the duration of voice memos in the list view.

I live in Japan and I am not fluent in English, so I am using an AI for translation. Please excuse any awkward phrasing.

Additionally, the bug where VoiceOver does not immediately read notification summaries does not appear to have been fixed.

By danno5 on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 10:56

Whatever they’ve done to the voiceover sound, notifications are louder, I actually hear the sounds, I prefer it like that as mine have always been quieter even with volume set to max. I’d be happy if they could at least keep the louder sounds, it makes more sense.

By Holger Fiallo on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 11:00

Did they fix the VO and notifications issues. VO does not read them and it the screen locks. Even if the screen is unlock and you slide to a notification it does not read it and if you flick up to clear them, VO keeps saying the notification and stucks for several minutes. 26.5 and 16 pro max. Long live cats.

By Joshua on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 - 14:42

It’s working on my iPad 9

Vo isn’t speeking new lines, i just noticed, also not speaking when deleting spaces
