Hello all:
just need to share my problem with you incase anyone has a solution.
Am using the google drive 2 TB cloud stoarage to save my important data.
and regarding Pricing in egypt, it was 750 EGP which may be 11$ for 1 year.
i found that google increased there fees to become 3000 EGp like 60$ for 1 year, which is some expensive for me.
so, need to know if there is any solution or exceptions for us as blind users? or any trusted alternative to use?
Really i can not think for a good solution.
so, any ideas will be highly appreciated.

I am assuming that because you posted this in the Apple forum, you have an iPhone. Sorry if I am wrong. But what about iCloud pricing? Have you checked that and compared it to Google?

Hi there, I’m afraid you're probably not going to receive too many responses on this topic, because the majority of the users here seem to be from developing countries, and they’re generally a bit more well-off, I think. Based on what I’ve been seeing here lately, it’s very clear that this community is mostly against discounts or any form of special consideration for people with disabilities. Because we’re blind, we already have to do everything the harder way to get by, and if we ever receive anything for free or at a discount, there’s usually massive backlash. People act as though we’re taking something we don’t deserve, and the companies offering those discounts end up thinking, “Well, we don’t need to innovate further — they’re getting this for free, so they should be grateful.”

Personally, I’m paying for these products, and yet we’re not seeing the level of improvement that we should. I thought Google still offered 15 GB of free storage, but even with that, you’re going to have to decide what’s worth keeping and what can be deleted, just to avoid hoarding unnecessary documents, photos, and videos. I don’t see Google lowering their prices anytime soon — if anything, it feels like they raise them more and more over time. It might be worth looking into iCloud or Dropbox instead. Depending on what kind of files you’re trying to store or share, maybe you could set up a separate email account for important photos and documents, and email them to yourself as backups. You could consider Microsoft OneDrive or any other service that offers accessible storage plans — it doesn’t have to be Google, and it might not even be the best option for your needs. These are some ideas off the top of my head, but I really hope you find a solution that works best for you. Best of luck!

From what I can tell, most other platforms, icloud drive, dropbox, etc., if we’re talking specifically the 2 TB plan, cost $10 a month. I’m not sure what that would be in your currency, but most of them for that space cost $10. Of course they do have cheaper options, which is what I would recommend, as an example iCloud Drive has 200 GB for three dollars a month, but if you’re going for the highest storage option possible, yeah that’s 10 dollars a month in most platforms.

I can confirm that OneDrive storage is about $10.69USD monthly (including taxes). That also includes the full range of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. I do not know what that translates to in Egyptian Pounds, but I agree with others, that most of the 2TB plants are roughly around the same price tag. I could not tell you why Google is suddenly jacking up their price, but you may want to consider an alternative for a more affordable price.
Alternatively, you may want to consider dropbox. Their 2TB plan is also $9.99USD (not including taxes). Personally, I do not use dropbox, so I cannot tell you how accessible it is versus the other major online storages, but here is a link to read more about it.

HTH.

Hello all:
till now, am thinking of what to do,
but frankly, this is so important for me to have my data on a cloud.
Let's see.
ANd thanks again for all your suggestions

I use VoiceOver on the iPhone, and yes, I can confirm that Dropbox is accessible. The only issue I had, slightly, was understanding how to change the folder that I was uploading to. This is the application I currently use myself, which is why I had suggested it earlier in the thread. I'm on the free version. The original poster could email their documents to Dropbox. There’s a feature on there where you can set it up so that you get a personalized Dropbox email linked to your account. If you have an image or a video, you can simply send it to your Dropbox email address, and it will be stored automatically in your “Attachments” folder. I’m not entirely sure if there’s a way to specify which folder you want the attachments to go to by default, but I do know that this email-upload feature exists, and it’s pretty convenient.

I hope they find something that works out for them, because everything these days is getting more expensive. Google keeps raising their prices. They keep releasing all these extra products that most people don’t even need. I think their main problem is marketing. They don’t know how to properly market their products, so they end up with ten or fifteen different versions of basically the same service, instead of consolidating everything into one. Every single product seems to have its own separate app or even a separate website, which is completely redundant.

I’m paying for Gemini every month, and half the time as soon as I send a message, I get an error message saying something went wrong. Then I have to stop, start a brand-new chat conversation, and try again. I honestly don’t know what I’m paying for at this point, because I’m not seeing any improvement. I don’t know if ChatGPT has more users, but I’ve never had those kinds of issues with ChatGPT before. Google keeps expanding and creating more tools, but the quality isn’t there. Anyway, I hope they find something that works for them.

Same. I mean I really, if I can help it, don't like paying for subscriptions, so I payed for 2tb pcloud lifetime myself, btw pcloud is another option to look at; their subscription 2tb plan is, just like dropbox, $10 a month as well.

FIrst time to know about this service.
but if it will be the same as dropbox, i think dropbox is more accessible and also many users are there.
Anyway THanks so much for your suggestion

As pointed out in the article I posted, Dropbox isn't a backup service, but a mirroring service. That's not to say you can't necessarily use it like one, just be careful what you're doing with it.

Pcloud is also fully accessible as well just like dropbox.

Am also paying icloud 50GB fees, because i can not backup all my data on a 5 GB free plan,
just the whatsapp itself is the problem,
am not doing backup for photos or videos, but if i can backup whatsapp on any other cloud storage, i'll stop using THe Icloud +.

I'm really thinking of going to this survice, I like that you pay once and that's it.

the 2tb plan would be perfect for me, is the app accessible? what about listening to media files on the phone and reading text?
