Hey everyone,
I'm running the iOS 26.1 Beta and have come across an accessibility bug with VoiceOver in the Files app. I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.
The Issue:
When you're playing an audio file in the Files app with VoiceOver active, the seek slider (the part VoiceOver calls "adjustable") doesn't work correctly. If you try to swipe up or down to fast-forward or rewind, it only moves the slider a tiny bit on the first swipe. After that, VoiceOver doesn't announce the new time, and worse, the focus jumps off the slider completely. You have to navigate all the way back to it to make another single adjustment.
This is really frustrating because in other apps like YouTube, the slider works perfectly, letting you scrub back and forth smoothly while VoiceOver updates you on the time. This bug makes it almost impossible to navigate audio tracks in the Files app.
Here are the steps to reproduce it:
1.
Make sure you're on iOS 26.1 Beta with VoiceOver enabled.
2.
Open the Files app and play any audio file.
3.
Navigate to the seek slider.
4.
Try to scrub through the track by swiping up or down.
A Call to Action:
Could any other VoiceOver users on the latest beta please test this out and see if you can reproduce it?
If you experience the same issue, please report it to Apple through the official Feedback app. The more reports they receive, the more likely it is to get fixed.
Iām posting this here because I've already submitted a few bugs through the community bug tracker, but they haven't even appeared in the list yet. I thought posting here might be a better way to confirm the issue with the community and encourage more people to send feedback directly to Apple.

If you experience a bug in Apple Beta Software, the most important thing you can do is to file a report in Feedback Assistant. Please do not assume that Apple is already aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference; your report may provide crucial information, and submitting bug reports directly to Apple helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority Apple is likely to give to fixing the bug.
If you are using beta software, please use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you are using a public release, this blog post explains how to report the issue and what information to include.
In 2025, AppleVis launched the Community Bug Reporting Program with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of information we share with the community about bugs in Apple software releases. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please submit your reports via our Community Bug Report Form.
All reports shared with AppleVis must first be filed with Apple via Feedback Assistant. More information about the Community Bug Program is available here.

old bog
We have this since the first iOS 26 beta.
re: old bog
I just encountered this bug! Please report it! The voiceover situation keeps getting worse with every update!
Seeing this as well
I just tried this on 26 and the issue is there for me.
It doesn't impact me though because now that Apple allows you to choose a default app for opening files, I set all audio files in the files app to open in VLC media player because I like to turn VO off and use the app's swipe gestures to seek through an audio file.
