I have correctly signed into google. My YouTube account. The gmail app itself sends and receives my email messages perfectly. I open the mail app and my account and it says no mail. I go to more and tap list view. Still nothing. Any suggestions are helpful.

Go to setting, apps, mail, to your mail, and see if fech is on or off. You should see your account.

Fetch is set to automatic for that account. I made sure that it had already been on. But I checked again and still I am getting no mail.

Did you make sure your email is setup like the old email. Now you have categories and so. Different folders. Maybe the message went in one of those.

Hi,

Try the following and see if this helps:
1. Go to settings, apps, mail, accounts.
2. Double tap on Google, or whatever you have your Google account labeled as.
3. On this screen, make sure that both mail and contacts are switched to on, optionally you can also have calendar and notes switched on as well, assuming you use Google for these services.
4. Go back one screen, and navigate down to fetch. Double tap here, and set up a fetch schedule to anything other than automatic. I would recommend 15 minutes or 30 minutes. This means that every 15 to 30 minutes, your device will check for new mail on your Google account.

HTH. ☺️

I went into the more menu and made it go to list view instead of categories but it still says no mail.

I made sure that mail and contacts, and even calendar and notes are on but still no success. I've never seen anything like this.

This is a longshot, but any chance you enabled encryption services when you first set up your Gmail on your device?
This can be found by going to settings, apps, mail, accounts, Google, account settings, advanced.

It's the very last setting, automatic encryption should be set to off.

Alternatively, on the screen before, advanced, is a button for changing your SMTP settings. I honestly do not know if Google has alternative SMTP server settings, however, accessing this setting explains that if you are not receiving your incoming mail, changing the SMTP server settings may help.

Best of luck to you.

This sounds like an issue with the connection between your phone and Gmail. I know it's a pain, but I would try removing the Google account from within Settings> Mail and re-adding it. Alternatively, on the screen where you can select what data (mail, contacts, calendars) syncs, you might try toggling off mail and turning it back on again if you haven't done so already.
