Hello. This is my first post. I was just wondering where I can get something that I can put my phone on top of and it'll help me be able to read a document with Seeing AI or Be My AI without having to hold my phone. For example, a while back, I had this scanning box that had a square cut out on the top of it, and I put a document in it, and I put my phone's camera right in the square cut out, and it was able to read the document perfectly. I was just wondering if there was a way to find one of them again. Also, I recently found one on a website called The Braille Super Store, but it was made out of cardboard, and it just wasn't standing good on it's own at all, so I don't want one that's made out of cardboard. Anything that yall can give me I appreciate. Thank you.

I think I know
That was probably a Scanner Bin. Looks like they still have them on Amazon. I use one to take pictures of objects sometimes, and for reading or scanning documents.
They don't always survive so well.
it is possible to make one out of a regular cardboard box with a hole cut in it and get about the same results. Since you are just reading documents, it doesn't need to be a nice square hole.
In fact, you could just align your phone with the camera sticking out over the edge of a box turned sideways and the top flap removed or tucked inward, and have the document part way inside at the bottom, and it would work. The Scanner Bin is 11.5 inches or about 29cm tall, and the hole for the camera is about 7 inches or almost 18cm at the top edge, which is where I usually place the camera close to. That will take a picture of an area that's actually quite a bit larger than a regular piece of copy paper.
Yeah. I actually have theβ¦
Yeah. I actually have the one that I purchased on the Braille Super Store here with me right now, but I think I know why it's not working out for me. It's because when I found it in my mailbox, it was kind of shoved in there so when I took the actual scan box out, I noticed it was squished on one side, so now everytime I stand it up, it just falls over to one side. So I'm not sure if I should just try the scanner bin on Amazon, because I did look at that one, and it did say it was cardboard, but I don't know.
Scanjig.
To be clear, I haven't used this, I don't own one. I had to pick "see all offers" on Amazon to get it to show up, it's $50, at least for me.

For the Amazon alternatives, it showed the scanner bin, but also a set of add-ons that include stabilization bars. The bin was $12 and the add-ons package was $9. So it looks like you've got some options, if you don't feel like trying to rig up your own.
3D model?
It might be worth seeing if there is a 3D printable model, if you have a 3D printer, or know someone with one. It's a fairly simple concept, if I had time I'd probably design something but I'm okay with waggling my phone until it works using Seeing AI and edge detection.
Scan Jig
So for the scan jig, it doesn't seem to say what kinds of phones it supports. I currently have an iPhone 16 plus, so I wonder if it will support that?
