Good morning to all, hope everyone is well. The subject asks my question, has anyone used the new remodled Orbit reader 20 Plus? I had a chance to see the original orbit reader 2 years ago. While the braille was excellent, the refresh rate was slow and it was very loud to say the least. Has anyone used the new version and if so, what is different about it? Any input is appreciated as I am looking for a new braille display. Thanks,

I... didn't know there was a newer model
I've never used it before but I will definitely research it.
What New Version is This?
I bought an Orbit Reader 20 Plus when it first became available, and had to get it fixed twice. It now has one dot which stays down, and I certainly don't want to spend yet more money getting it fixed a third time.
I just went to the product page on the manufacturer's Website, and I don't see anything about a new and improved version.

I do see unlabelled links and graphics without alt text though.
If there is a newer model, perhaps they would accept my old one as a partial trade, considering I had nothing but problems with it. I would be willing to try a new and improved version if the braille cells are more reliable, and perhaps quieter and quicker to refresh.
I heard about it from CSUN.
I have not seen it but someone who went to the CSUN conference told me that orbit research redesigned the orbit reader. I suppose I can always call them but they may or may not admit to the device being as loud as the original one.
Thanks, I'll Look Into It
Thanks. I will contact them to find out some more.
I did like the original version, when it worked properly. That "sign quality braille" is great to feel!
