Hi all.
I was going to forward a message and accidentally hit cmd-l I believe, which was probably the old Thunderbird command on Windows. It said "enable message filter", and now my "all inboxes" table is empty of messages. Anybody know what I did and how to change it back? I don't readily see anything that looks promising and I have no idea what filter it would have enabled.

Apparently it's showing new messages.
I checked mail just now, and the table had six new messages. When i deleted them, it was empty again. I might actually keep it this way for a bit, but I'd still like to know what's going on and how to undo it, if anybody knows what's going on.
Mail filters
Based on your description, It sounds like you have a filter to only show unread messages enabled. You can disable it, or change filtering options, from the "Filter" submenu in the View menu.

Ah, thanks!
I think I'll try it for a bit and see how I like it, since I know my mail still exists and all. But now I know what to look for.
