Is anyone else finding that they are unable to post comments on the Facebook app? The button to post comments is not detected at all, making it impossible to send. Screen recognition does not function as a workaround. The problem applies only to standalone comments, not to replies.
I have contacted Facebook Accessibility to let them know and would be good if others did too, assuming they are encountering the problem.

Oh dear not again
What version? Currently seems to be working fine for me on v519.1.0. However, been down this road before so maybe here we go again lol.
The trick
I noticed this a couple of weeks ago. I hovered my finger over the text field, which would not open with a double tap, then I turned VO off, touched one time the place where the text field was and turned VO back on. This brought up the keyboard and I was able to post.
Version
519.1.0.40.99 (753726094)
Unless FB has put me on the naughty step for some reason but can’t think why. Hope it stays working for you.
Re. The trick
Thanks OldBear. Didn’t work for me but I’ll keep trying. The issue isn’t that the keyboard doesn’t come up. The keyboard comes up fine, and I can type the comment, but no button to post.
Oops
Must be a whole new problem. Sorry about that, but keep it in mind if the edit field won't open for you at some point in the future.
Re. Oops
Never be sorry for trying to help. We’re all trying to make things easier for each other in the world where these kind of annoying things happen because accessibility is treated with carelessness.
a work around.
Just after the heading where it says create post, there is an unlabelled button, swiping from left to right. If you have no text in your comment, the button will be dimmed, however, as soon as you input some text when double-tapping on the button, it will post whatever you are creating.
Seems to be fixed
Now seems to be working again. The button is appearing once some text is typed, as Sechaba said.
