Hi, I just had a thought. There are some default apps that came with my MacBook that I don’t use at all. I was wondering if it’s possible to delete them and if so how do you do this with VoiceOver? I’m using the latest version of macOS Sequoia And I have a MacBook with an M1 chip.
To clarify, I know how to add and remove things from my dock, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to delete certain apps from my Mac altogether? For example, I don’t use the Apple Books app on my Mac can I delete it?

I believe it is possible
You can enable the root user and remove apps you don’t use. However, keep in mind that using a Mac as someone who is visually impaired often requires multiple workarounds. This usually means relying on more than one app to accomplish a single task.
For example, you might consider deleting the Books app, but it’s worth reconsidering—some books may not work well with popular reading apps like Voice Dream Reader or Speech Central. Similarly, you may want to delete Photo Booth, but before doing so, think about how fun or engaging it might be for your kids to see themselves in its quirky photo effects.
In short, I strongly recommend leaving these apps in place. They don’t take up much storage space, and you might find them unexpectedly useful.
No
The built-in Apple apps can't be deleted. I think they're a part of the core system. You may be able to do it by disabling System Integrity Protection, but I don't know if that would work, and it may cause undesired consequences for the system even if it's possible. If you don't use apps, just ignore them.
That makes sense
Hi, in terms of disabling the root user and things like that I would have no idea where to even begin as I know what I’m doing but I’m not that technical.
I think it makes sense to just leave them as they are. The apps I tend to use the most I just keep them in the dock so that’s fine.
