Apple Beta Releases
Your Feedback is Important to Improving Accessibility on Apple platforms
Don't assume that Apple is aware of a bug or that your report won't make a difference - submitting bug reports directly to the company helps them reproduce and resolve the issue faster. Your report may provide crucial information. The more reports they receive, the higher the priority they give to fixing the bug.
If you're using a beta version, use the Feedback Assistant on your device to submit feedback and bug reports. If you're using a public release, follow the instructions on this page.

Suggestion before installing
It might be a good idea to switch your voice to compact Samantha before installing iOS 26.
I have a 15 pro
Hi,
I just saw Michael's recommendation not to install iOS 26 on the iPhone 15 pro, but I did & mine works fine.
I have occasionally lost speech, but if I turn Voiceover off & back on, sometimes, multiple times, it comes back & all is well.
I'm liking the updates so far.
Software update now works!
Hi all,
Software update now works! I just checked, and it was on apples end. you can once again check for a beta update.
replying to last post
yes
i checked and software update now works
batttery.
It seams to be the 20 percent dialog screen thing is still there.
@Michael thanks but I've moved back to Alex.
Pairing Bluetooth Devices
Hi all,
I have just started noticing that when you try to pair a new device to your iPhone (like an Amazon Echo Dot), when I tap on the device name under "other devices", nothing happens. I have already reported this to Apple (FB17880994). Has anyone else noticed this?
latenight mode
Another thing I have notice that in sounds in haptic setting, there is latenight mode. this makes the volume louder. Late night has always been an option under the music EQ setting, but it can also be found in the sounds and haptics setting. that to me is very cool!
any voice quality changes
well,
some of the languages of the speech quality is not good since IOS 17...
does it has any changes?
Issue with Liblouis Tables
Initially, when connecting my BrailleNote Touch+ to my iPhone to test Braille Access, I could not read using my Braille display at all. However, this appears to just be a Liblouis issue, as switching to Unified (system) appeared to fix the issue. Will be submitting a report about this soon.
so, i can't downgrade.
I'm not to bothered about this as the phone works fine, but it would have been a nice option. I know i could probably plug the phone into a laptop and go from there but i'm to lazy.
I don't like how you have to tap on edit, then select, then select your messages in the messages app, then tap on delete to delete them,, for multiple messages i understand but for just one? It's a waist of time.
I could report it but it's not a bug, it's just the new way of doing things.
My cousin says that a lot of people really don't like the glass look of things an dthere's tonnes of reports on how much it sucks, so it'll be interesting to see if apple goes back to the way it was before all this 26 stuff started.
@Brad Re: I'm unable to downgrade for now.
The change in verbosity you mentioned was here since ios 18.3 or .4 something.
Unable to activate Braille Screen Input in Settings app
Hi.
Subject says it all and have reported to Apple, FB17954299.
When I try to do this, it just does not activate. One time I completely lost VoiceOver and had to do a hard reboot as even the accessibility shortcut did not work. Otherwise, so far so good considering it's the first beta. iPhone SE, Third Generation.
No USB Braille support for devices lacking HID
Sadly, there's still no support for USB Braille displays that don't support HID. Bluetooth isn't always ideal. It's a shame given the emphasis on Braille this year.
Deleting messages
For the person who wanted to delete messages. Try a triple tap with one finger. You will have to swipe to delete, but at least you will not have to go through edit. Remember, this is beta 1 and things will get better.
I’ve got iOS26 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max and and iPad is running iPadOS26. Stable for me at the moment.
Re: deleting messages
Did I understand this right, that you cannot delete messages with the action rotor anymore? Because, that absolutely sucks if that is the case.
Not exactly...
You can choose the more action from the actions than you, and at the bottom or a delete and forward button. Haven’t tested this on 26, but that’s how it was an 18.
Deleting Messages Using The VoiceOver Rotor
I don't know if this is a bug or not, or if it's just part of the new design. I did submit feedback expressing that I hope the delete option will return to the rotor. If anyone wants to reference my feedback, the ID is: FB17909103
the triple tap option worked
The triple tap option worked. and yes, I have also noticed the delete action from the VoiceOVer rotor is gone, for now. as everyone has said, this is only beta 1, so they will add it back in future beta builds.
bluetooth audio?
When listening to audio through bluetooth speakers, and you have it set to speaker, does the voiceover volume still get turned up?
That is a bug that has been around for quite some time.
Two questions for you beaters
Before I start, yes I know it isn't spelt like that -it's a play on words!
1. Personal voice: as of IOS18, your personal voice has to be english US. When putting together my personal voice I did try and accentuate, as much as possible, the English home counties attributes of my manner of speaking so as to offset this, but it still had a noticeable effect on how it processed pronunciation in putting the voice together, plus I had to endure wretched Samantha on the lock screen - a sacrifice I am not prepared to make. so my question is this: can I now have an english UK, australia, South africa, India etc. personal voice?
2. Braille access mode sounds intriguing rather than essential from my perspective but I'll definitely be giving it a shot. Can you access it if your device is set to six-dot Braille though? I much prefer that to eight-dot Braille.
Well done to all you beaters out there, incidentally. I enjoy reading your comments. It's very valuable from my perspective as I only have one iPhone and am neither brave enough nor permitted to run beta releases on it.
As for Braille Access, yes…
As for Braille Access, yes you can use your device in six-dot mode. Tried it on my Focus 14 Blue and everything seems fine.
Where did History go in Safari?
In the changes to Safari's UI, it appears that the bookmark button isn't fully re-labelled yet (has no capital letter at the beginning, which to me says that part is being re-done). However, the issue I'm facing now is how to find my Safari search history. I'm assuming that it's still there, but I can't seem to navigate to it.
Safari browsing history
If you're looking for your browsing history, it's still in Safari’s bookmarks view, however, the button is currently labeled as "Clock."
New feature – AirPods beta firmware
While browsing my AirPods settings on my iPad, I came across a prompt which told me that there is AirPods beta firmware available. I pressed on it and there was a button giving me the option to win agree to the installation of the beat software. Unfortunately, I don't think it forces it to install straight away and it's a case of just having to wait a bit for it to install When it feels like it.
Peter Holdstock
Suggestion, listen to music for 20 seconds, put it back on the case, next to phone and let it be for 15 minutes.
No beta firmware for USBC Airpods max?
Hi,
I just got the USBC airpods max & am not seeing an option to install any sort of beta firmware.
Given that, am I correct in believing that these airpods either don't have beta firmware that goes with iOS 26 or if it does, it's just not available to us as end users?
AirPods Beta Firmware
Hi there,
As I understand it, the AirPods beta firmware for iOS 26 requires an H2 chipset. Apple seems to be very good at imposing limitations lately, I guess. :)
Revised build of iOS
There is a new revised build of developer beta one for iOS 26 according to 9to5Mac.
I do not know if there are other updates for other platforms.
I would guess that iPadOS also got the update, but can't confirm right now.
For me on a 16 Pro Max, the update is around 500 Ish megabytes. Have not installed it yet, but will let you know of any findings when I do.
iOS rerelease
Apple just did another rerelease of the beta. Only for iPhone 15 and up.
Confused on the rerelease
why the rerelease? Also, for those of you testing the beta, been meaning to but haven't gotten around to it... The typing with braille with one hand with bsi... How does that work?
Igna Triay
Did not said. I think it might be regarding people were having with connection. Not sure. Would love to say was due to VO not working. Also issues with 15 pro whoever was having issues.
re-release
Hi, the re-release is only for iPhone 15/15 pro users, not for older devices.
The release is also available for 16 devices.
I have a 16 Pro Max and it is able to get the release. A friend of mine has an bace model iPhone 16, and he was also able to get the update. I read that it was for the iPhone 15 and 15 pro devices and later.
Revised beta 1 release
Has there been any confirmation that the revised release resolves the iPhone 15 Pro bricking issue?
I’m on a 15 Pro and am keen to get on to the beta but couldn’t risk it after hearing about that.
Dave
It says it in the release notes, as well as how to fix it
There are new release notes for the revised version. Under the general heading, you will find Apple saying how to fix it.
Excellent
Thanks Levi. I'm jumping in!

Braille Access Question
Hi all, I'll be waiting for the public beta since I only have one iOS device and the last time I installed the first developer beta things did not go well. I do have a question about braille access though.
So the very brief bits of information I have found on this feature have been very vague. What I have read though implies that you can use braille screen input with braille access though. Is that the case? Because previous posts in this thread seem to indicate that it is not.
Also, is braille access just a word processor? Again, information on this feature has been beyond vague but it also implies that braille access is a different interface for your phone like for launching apps as well. I'm not sure what that would look like since you can kind of do that with braille screen input in iOS 18 right now, but I'm curious about it. I'm hoping to have a braille display at some point but last time I checked they're all still well out of my budget.
Braille Access requires a…
Braille Access requires a connected Braille display in order to use it. It provides basic notetaking, opening and reading BRF files, nemeth calculator and live captions. Again, this feature requires a connected Braille display in order to use it.
The single hand mode in…
The single hand mode in Braille Screen Input works like this. By default the dots are entered in columns. Enter up to three dots in the first column and the same for the second. To leave a column empty simply swipe to the right with one finger. If this sounds familiar, veteran iOS users may remember an app called Type In Braille. Back to Braille Screen Input single hand mode, there are two other methods which actually emulates a slate and stylus, or be it bigger. You will be right at home if you have or had one of these. Two versions exist; the regular slate and stylus and the reverse slate and stylus.
Hope this gives you an idea of the new single hand mode option of Braille Screen Input.
Disappointing about Braille Access
That's very unfortunate to hear that braille access will not work with braille screen input. Obviously the best experience would be using a braille display, but I would definitely make use of it with braille screen input on occasion.
