macOS and Mac Apps
Does any of you know ¬if the end note web version is accessible on the Mac? I need that kind of software when making quotes for my papers I am writing while I am studying. THis can be done in Microsoft Word for Windows, where you can quote something from a book and it will help you make the bibliography right away in alphabetical order. I realy need this, so I hope any of you have some advice. And if End note isn't an option what would you choose to use except for Microsoft Word? Thanks in advance.
Hi Thomas, I don't know your background, so forgive me if this is the wrong solution for you. I use a typesetting language called Latex, which gives you complete control over your documents. It is similar to programming, in that you type commands interspersed into your text. The compiler then interprets these commands and formats your text accordingly. I use this in place of what people would call "heavy" word processing; you are basically defining all the attributes of your text that are hidden or hard to get to in a native word processing app. The reason I'm bringing this all up is that Latex has a feature that will create bibliographies for you. It can be somewhat quirky, but I never got Endnote to work properly and chose to go this route. If you or anyone else is interested, write me directly with the kind of paper or report you'd like to produce and I can get you started with some relevant commands. My best advice for learning Latex? Google and the Wikki books are your best friends. Hope I helped and didn't confuse you too much. Chelsea
I can't answer your question comprehensively, unfortunately. I haven't looked into this too much. I have found an app called Bookends, which is essentially like End Note. I've played with the free trial version of Bookends and it's accessible, at least for creating libraries of references. I haven't tried adding these to a document yet, so not sure if that part is accessible.
